I'm on the fence about Carle, but it seemed like last week people were really into this guy (both the media and on here). If Bill Meltzer writes an article saying he is good will everyone change their mind for a week then go back to hating him until another article surfaces about him?

I would trade him for Zanon and a pick. Then use the pick for Gill or Sutton.

Carle for Zanon and Sutton.

DONE!

I've been of the opinion that Carle's recent good play has mostly been an illusion. It's been a while since I've checked his advanced stats, but my guess is that he's seeing far inferior competition of late. He's no longer getting exploited by other teams' top lines while playing with Pronger. However, when he's playing a deep team like NYR where it's inevitable that he's going to see some firepower, it seems like he reverts. He can hold his own against another team's chaff, but have him stand up to the big guns and he gets blasted.

I pity the team that pays him 5 million. I hope it isn't us.

Edit: I hope it's someone in the division though.

Zanon? Why do we need Zanon?
Rather have life without Zanon.

Sutton is a walking suspension. Against Detroit the other night, he had a chance to take someone out, but didn't because he knew he would be suspended and Detroit scored the go-ahead goal.

This isn't a Cup team and Carle's not going to be retained in free agency... get value for him now instead of losing him for nothing in five months.

Agree with the first part, not entirely sure about the second. The franchise seems to like him for some odd reason.

I wouldnt trade him for Gill or Sutton bc I htink all it will take is some draft picks. Can we trade him for another pending free agent who has similar value? Like possibly Kubina. Or what about Barrett Jackman? I always liked that guy but I'm not sure about his status in St. Louis. If he hits the open market, he would be a good player to target

St. Louis has a chance to win their division and will most likely be in the playoffs.

I would say that they don't want to trade Carle because (1) we over paid to get him and/or (2) we're hurting on D, but with that said I hope they understand that he will want way more than he is worth in the offseason and he could be traded away pre-deadline to get something to help us now/in the future.

I'd post a pic from the Lingerie Bowl, but I'd fear it would get me Sutton'ed.

No, this team would need more to go right than can reasonably be expected, including a number of rookies playing significant roles through the end of season and 4 rounds of playoffs, one of the goalies standing up and taking control, the D tightening up enormously, and starting to win those 2-1 and 3-2 games with consistency. Not to mention beating and/or seeing the Bruins and Rangers lose.

I'd go on, but I can hardly type through these tears.

In February 2010, did the Flyers look like a team that would make it to the SCF?

Flyers record: 30-16-6
Bruins record on this date last year: 30-16-7

Flyers have no chance. Most Cup champions win the President's trophy and don't have any issues throughout the season, right?
