I agree. Especially the first one. You can't take a hit and go out of your way to go after the guy who hit you when you're in the defensive zone. You've got a job to take care of. Retaliation isn't it.

Amazing.

Is the testosterone level on the general decline in the metro NY area?

You think Flyers fans would be this whiny if they were where we are?

I've been a Rangers fan longer than most of you have been alive. Rarely have I seen a compete level that would equal what this team has.

These guys are good, but you folks keep drinking that sour milk. Whatever.

I don't see what everyone is complaining about. We outshot them, out hit them, blocked more shots. Our defense and goaltending was far superior to theirs, and finally, the final score was 5-2.

Is anyone here actually expecting the Rangers to score a PP goal?
I sure hope not.

I think people are complaining about taking too many dumb penalties. Sure we did, but how often has that happened since the first 10 games of the season? So our guys got a little wild against the Flyers, what the **** do you expect? We won the game 5-2 with excellent defense, excellent goaltending, and opportunistic offense.

71 points. I see nothing to complain about here. Move on.

I agree. One other thing to add is that we used to talk about having tough players, as opposed to being team tough. I think that this team shows what team toughness is. Not that Prust or Rupp are not tough by themselves. But this team truly can play whatever game others want to play. And, unlike the teams of the dark years, they are not getting intimidated by anyone.

the penalty he took on Rinaldo was more of Rinaldo diving than Bickel draging the kid down.

Rinaldo wanted no part of Bickel there and his dive made it obvious.

Stu got caught buying into Rinaldo's BS and he got called.

I'm glad we have a defenceman that is willing to drop the gloves like Bickel. it sucks that we can dress both he and Sauer.

As much as I am a fan of Stu Bickel, even I know he sits in favor of Sauer.

I'd play Bickel over both Eminger and Woywitka that's for sure.

agree with this post 1000%

They used ot get run out of thei OWN building, that doesn't happen anymore.

The Rangers are as physical as any team in the legaue and more often than not, are the most physical team in the league.

They are not a fun team to play against.

Rupp has a broken thumb. No fighting for him.

First penalty on Bickel was weak. It was a dive more than anything. Just like the penalty Stepan drew. Both were weak calls.

The other two were legitimate. However, while there are never "good" penalties to take, I didn't mind those two too much...physical penalties in a physical game are going to happen. He hasn't been bad to this point with the penalties, and he's still a young guy. I'm sure that's the most intense professional game he has ever been in.

Did Torts say anything about Bickel after the game?

See. Bad broadcasting. That's something they should know.

Rupp would still win that fight though. Rinaldo isn't as good of a fighter as Flyers fans really want to believe.

Does anyone here know if Bickel tried to fight him?

Don't know, but there's no way he's stupid enough to fight 3X and limit us to 5 d-men.

Rinaldo on slewfoot of Parise Sat: "Someone had to stir the pot." So now a premeditation is worthy of $2500 fine but no suspension?

Doesn't surprise me that Torts approved, penalties and all. Bickel answered the bell and helped set the tone.

Doesn't matter if Rinaldo dove or not. Bickel pulled himself way out of position to confront him. The play wasn't bad because Bickel took a penalty on it, it was bad because it was stupid. If it had resulted in a goal, which it easily could have, instead of a penalty the Rangers killed off, then you wouldn't be so accepting of the play.

i'm beginning to wonder if thornton was being sarcastic when he called the rangers soft. i mean, theyre the toughest ranger team ive ever seen. the messier teams relied on a few tough players to police the rink. but this team is a pack of wild angry mutts.

(edit : i mean that in a good way!)

After every game where we beat our opponent both physically and on the scoreboard my wife says "Softest team in the league!" Cracks me up every time.

To be fair, most ranger fans tolerated Hollweg , Chris Simon while he was here, as well as of course Sean Avery.
