The idea of a meetup has been proposed in the OT 10,000 thread, thought I'd post it here for more to see to try and attract more Bay Area HFers.
Being that February sucks for trying to catch the Sharks at home maybe we could get together and watch one of the away games and then head out to paint the town teal at a couple bars.
For starters we need to see who would be willing to offer up their living room and TV for this meeting. Otherwise we'd have to try to locate a sports bar willing to put the game on WITH the volume up so we can hear Randy and Drew go off on their tangents.
Next we need to figure out when everyone can meet, hence the poll. Pick the dates you are able to meet and we'll see which one(s) get(s) the most votes.
Here are the away games in February and March minus the Blues game (too soon) and the Red Wings game (9:30am start?!?):
Man those games are hella early. On Feb 25th, I propose watching UFC 144 instead. It's gonna be EPIC.
Why road games only?
I figured some people (read: those not on a college-student-budget) might be going to the home games and wouldn't want to skip them to hang out with us. That, and polls only allow for 15 options.
Definitely would be easier and less sketchy to meet at a bar the first time. As for location, obviously people are going to want to meet somewhere closest to their place, so whoever organizes it gets that luxury.
I guess you guys don't party hard enough and stay at bars till 3:00?
Oh sorry, you'd still have to find a place to stay down there. I just meant we could carpool down and then carpool back the next day. Basically, carpool down-->Sharks game-->drunken debauchery-->sleep it off-->wake up the next day with some artwork or artifact we stole from city hall-->carpool back home-->mail stolen items back to their rightful owners with no return address-->???-->profits...

Before we decide what soundtrack we'll be listening to we need to make sure we're meeting so we need everyone to make some choices. It would appear that KM (the one who came up with the idea) hasn't even voted on what date(s) to meet up, aside from the UFC fight. Maybe if we were talking about Flyers games he would vote....

If any of those dates above match up with your schedule make sure to choose them. Otherwise throw out some suggestions. I'm certainly not going to get butt-hurt if we meet up on a day that isn't listed above...
Hmm, I probably will be too lazy to meet at some weirdos house with a bunch of strangers, but I would join a bunch of Sharks fans at bars to watch games. I voted for a bunch in March, because unless we meet up in the Dogpatch, I won't be watching any of the early games. Stupid East Coast.
