@habsinsideout1 #Habs Gomez told me if team took a poll, AK46 likely would win most popular guy in the room. Says he's a riot, players love him

Sure gives us a different look at AK than the one we're used to. Some more ammo as well for people who don't want him shipped at the deadline.

It is pretty obvious to anyone who has been paying attention at how much AK's personality has grown since his brother left (also helps he was essentially forced to learn English as well).

Edit: I think this explains Gomez's lack of vision as well.

I agree. Just on the ice, you see him having animated conversations with his teammates this season that you couldn't imagine him having 2-3 years ago. It's nice to be able to witness some players' evolutions as human beings for a change.

Well one thing is for sure, Gomez really seem to like AK and it's been like that since he signed with us. Sure AK had a tough time when he was teamed up with Gomez last year but I really like how Gomez acts with AK.

I guess it's because they're both lazy bums.

well thats all nice and stuff- but for this team to get on with it- Gomez has to depart somewhere and if Ak isnt signed by deadline then hes gotta go too- i just hope this season spurs on a different way of doing business in montreal

what do you know ?

Is this on record or are you just assuming?

Maybe if Sergei was still around they would of 'grown' together, as you put it.

For someone who loves putting people in their place when you disagree with what they say, you sure do a great job in pretending to have inside knowledge.

The fact remains, AK only shows up for 20 games a year, he must drive the coach nuts on times. In his defence, maybe it's his illness holding him back.

From what I've been reading all season long I detect a subcurrent of prejudice in some posters. They're much harder on Habs of Slavic backgrounds than they are on those of West European descent. They make insinuations not only about Andrei Kostitsyn but also about Markov, Kovalev, and even Plekanec. No, I'm not of Slavic descent, so I have no dog in this fight. I'm just leery of Canadian nativists of whatever stripe who assume the image of Don Cherry in their own peculiar way.

But Francois Gagnon keeps saying that AK46 is a loner and never speaks to anyone in the locker room. Francois knows everything. Who to believe?

All the more reason to re-sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal!! With his talent and the right coach giving him the right amount of icetime and playing with the right linemates...he could be a key player for the Habs.

He's certainly worth more to the Habs than people like to believe!
