One of the all-time classic gifs was the Watsatheo remix of rolling Kostitsyn.

Pretty obvious to everyone who watches the team that AK is well liked. Also pretty obvious that AK likes this team and playing for the habs, he's no passenger, he went through a rollercoaster in his career here but he still wants to be part of of the team. That means alot. He's not Getzlaf or Parise or whatever but he's still an important part of this team and he should be resigned.

I still think it's possible the unexpected "leader" Martin talked about was AK. His body language has been different since last year - maybe it was his more extroverted brother leaving, maybe something else, but while he still has his flaws on the ice (poor awareness, bad vision directly around him), he seems constantly engaged. His English is better too.

As a hockey player you either love Montreal or hate it, despite what the media says about him he's lasted for a reason.

I love Kostitsyn. I don't care what anyone says but he's a really important part of our team and will be hard to replace if he goes.

And, YES!
This doesn't surprise me, I always thought of him as somekind of goof, kidding around and pulling stupid pranks on his team mates.

I agree that Kostitsyn is more valuable than his point totals show. He's not someone we can afford to overpay but I can't think of anyone statistically comparable I'd want over him.

- Gionta
- Pacioretty
- Cole
- Kostityn
- Bourque
- Radulov

That's quite a healthy top-9 wingers, don't you think? And for the Europhobics, that's only 2 Russians

- Plekaneks
- Desharnais
- Grigorenko

Not a bad centre depth either, eh?

Trade him already, he may be a nice guy, but he is too lazy. He has been a failure here in Montreal. Total no show this weekend

As much as I'd like to take credit for the gif, it's the work of Whatsatheo.

Maybe if Sergei was still around they would of 'grown' together, as you put it.

For someone who loves putting people in their place when you disagree with what they say, you sure do a great job in pretending to have inside knowledge.
It was on record, from a number of avenues.

I have no idea how to find the links to the articles but I remember Andrei stating something along the lines of "when my brother did something everyone looked at me to have a reaction." He didn't like having to always answer to his brother when things happened, on or off the ice.

I also remember reading about how Sergei did a lot of translating for Andrei in the locker room, which is detrimental to anyone trying to learn another language. Not having his brother there to translate for him forced him to take more initiative in using English himself.

There was also that camp after Sergei was traded where he came in with a reportedly much higher emotional status.

Lastly, there have been numerous reports in the last year or so from team mates stating that Andrei has been a bit of a joker in the locker room, and has become closer with the team mates, contrasting to before when there was actually the opposite reports in which he was very reserved and quiet.

I also never once pretended to have "inside knowledge" and I am not sure how you even came to that conclusion. The words "it is quite obvious to anyone that has been paying attention" is almost the complete opposition of "claiming inside knowledge."

But okay bro.

I'm all for selling assets at this point, but Kostitsyn is one I hope we keep, as long as we don't pay much more than what he's currently getting.

Once you get over the fact that he'll never be the 80-90 point scoring sensation that we hoped he'd be, you realize he's actually a very useful player.

Sure gives us a different look at AK than the one we're used to. Some more ammo as well for people who don't want him shipped at the deadline.
Seems like typical Gomer humor to me!!

But I'm happy if it's true!!

I'm pretty sure that Gionta spend a lot of time with him too last season. I remember reading that somewhere.

Since Emelin came over AK seems to think/play like a defenceman.

I've noticed a few times this year when he's covering for a d-man going up on the rush this year he seems to be trying to emulate a d-man instead of in years past he would look like a forward in an awkward position he didn't want to be.

Don't care. Trade him please. He's lazy like his brother, a cancer like Grabovski. Thank god we trade those two ****ers away. We are so much better now while those ****ers are hated and have no impact in the respective team. These soft, lazy euros are useless.
