i think he is a bit overpaid- and 6 years? a bit too much- just my opinion
i could have seen him signing a contract 2 seasons ago for 3 or 4 years at about 2.5 to 3 average- to me thats about right- habs should give cole the C and give the A to Subban_(I bet Gorges would be piss ed)LOL

How on earth is giving a decreasing 6% of the cap space to Gorges is an overpayment? we could pay 17 gorges to that price

This is the part I didn't get either.

we can suggest that by the end of the contract, gorges will get paid for about 3,5% of the total cap, and he'll still be a very usefull player

So you're saying the cap is going to be 110 million $ by the end of his term??? Hahaha another credible post!

ok, if you want to nitpick,, with the economy going up in the next few years, and the weak links teams like pheonix and co going to greater markets, i fail to see why its impossible and even if he only go around 5% its still a really good percentage of cap for a good player

People who think that extra 0.9 mil on his contract will be the one factor that keeps this team from being a contender are hilarious. If we're a million shy of signing Malkin when he becomes a UFA, management WILL make room for him, somehow.

And with all the TRULY overpaid bums on this team, people want to get their panties in a twist over a guy like GORGES? Unreal.

He stops anyone around the boards and rarely comes out of the corners without the puck, and that can't be measured with stats.
