Hockey Bucket List?

Last night I scored my first goal as a D and now that I've cleared that milestone, I was thinking about my progress and making a little hockey bucket list. What do you think should be on it?

1. First goal - X
2. First two goal game - X
3. First hat trick -
4. First breakaway goal - X
5. First backhander goal -
6. First goal as Defense - X
7. Play hockey outside -
8. Play hockey in Canada - X
9. Play in a tournament - X
10. Win a tournament -

I figured you guys might have some good ideas! Let's hear them!

Have fun and always challenge yourself to be better

I've got none, aside from the above. Beyond making a living out of it or playing semi-pro as a hobby, I've done everything I could want to do. Double hat trick game, triple hat trick game, lead team in points, lead league in points and goals, lead playoffs in points, play select/travel, etc.

You could add new items based on what you want out of your playing, like the travel or selects roster spot, etc. IMO it's always the best just being able to keep on progressing in your talents, or getting back to them while overcoming slumps. Last season we had 13 games including 3 to win the playoffs. I was having a rough go of putting up the points and focused my energy into a rougher, better defensive game. Now that I've gotten over that, for the new season we're only 4 games in and I'm leading the team with 2 less points than I got all of last season. That is a good feeling.

1) play open hockey at MSG and Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum

2) play open hockey where it is just me and everyone else is a current NHL star like Crosby / or play in one NHL game - but wearing a yellow vest so everyone knows they are not supposed to check me (never played full contact)

#2 comes from having played competitive basketball and getting an opportunity to be on the court with Division I players. The talent gap is mind blowing between good high school players and Div I players in hoops, and I remember when I was on the court playing against them I was just in awe.

I'd love to just see how fast, coordinated and skilled the NHL players are - I cannot even imagine how fast a Grabner is on the ice flying up on a breakaway, or the speed and stick handlng wizardry of a Datsyuk up close.

I've still got 2 diferent types of goals that I want to score.
1) wrap around goal. being 5'2" makes this difficult but not impossible
2) empty netter. it's not really my style in this situation to shoot for the goal. I'm just trying to get it out usually. the best opportunity I ever had I was cutting across the blue line as our defenseman picked the puck up near our goal line. I would've had an open lane to the empty net but our a$$hat of a dman shot for the EN (from our goal line!) and hit me in the head instead.

Nice!

I've done a lot. Never played goalie, don't really want to though. Not sure what there's left for me to do other than keep playing and improving...

1. First goal - yep
2. First two goal game - had a few
3. First hat trick - summer league a few years back, first regular season one this year
4. First breakaway goal - several
5. First backhander goal - probably, can't remember
6. First goal as Defense - yep
7. Play hockey outside - yep
8. Play hockey in Canada - no, that would be fun
9. Play in a tournament - yep
10. Win a tournament - not since I was a tyke so I don't count that...

Other ones I can think of:

Wristshot goal
Slapshot goal
One-timer goal
Empty net goal
Tip-in goal (on purpose!)
Set up three teammates in one game
Win all your draws for the game
Block a shot
Help get a shutout
Penalty shot goal
Overtime goal
Shootout goal
Win your division
Make the playoffs
Play for the championship
Win the championship

Surprisingly I think I've scored over 100 goals in the last six years and I've never had an empty netter. Never got to try a penalty or shootout goal either.

I'd have an "X" for all of those except 10 (haven't played in many tourneys) and 12 (that's pretty rare), though I haven't done 6 in a long time (never play d anymore). While I have BEEN in a couple hockey fights, I've never won one, so I guess that'd be something to add, but really I have no intention of getting into any more hockey fights now that I just play beer league.

I will add "win a beer league championship," my beer league teams have been solid, but we haven't won it all yet.

One more to add:

Go on a hockey road trip

Would be fun to go on a long road trip with a few friends, just generally visiting/travelling, and playing pickup games wherever they can be found along the way, both outdoors and indoors. Would be a fun way to meet people while travelling too.

this is very good.

a friend of mine from long ago wanted to see every team play at their home rink. by then he had made his way through 2/3's of the league. eventually, i hope to do the same.

That would be awesome yeah! aha I'm at the age where I'm still very young and hoping to do a little traveling when I get out of highschool. We want to go to Utah or Alaska to dirtbike and snowmobile respectively of course, but we might just bring our hockey bags along for a few games of shinny on the way!

Yeah I play a league now with no contact so fights are far and few between

I remember one time when I was about 9 I went to my cousins game. He played in major midget so this would have been 2002-03 and they were aloud to fight. I mean they still got penalties and a game suspension but they would take off their helmets and have at er. The refs would break it up eventually but I guess they figured they didn't want to get in between and catch a fist to the jaw. But, this game I remember their captain got railed from behind and stood up ripped the guys helmet off, took his off and proceeded to beat the living crap out of the other kid. His knuckles were chewed up from hitting the helmet a couple times but I'll never forget the amoiunt of blood on the ice from the other kids face.

I just can't beleive that was less than 10 years ago, it's amazing.

Play hockey in an NHL rink. That's about all on my list. My eight year old son has done it, but I've never had the chance.

Oh, there's a lot of good suggestions here! Especially that one-timer goal - I'll be so happy to get that one because there have been many attempts! lol!

My first goal happened on the Everett Silvertips ice. (And it was awesome!) Being in the Seattle area without an NHL team, that's probably as close as I'm going to get to that feeling of playing in a big place!

So funny, I'm actually planning that right now. The "wife" thinks we're going cross-country traveling, but what she dont know, is we(my buddies and I) are bring our hockey things(taking my truck, got plenty of room).

Score a Goal - X
Multi-Goal Game - X
Hat Trick - X
Game Winning Goal - X
Hockey Fight - X
Win a championship at any level - X (Stanima Summer Hockey, wooh!)
Score on a slapshot - X
Score on a penalty shot - X (3 on 3 hockey, penalty = penalty shot)
Score with the Forsberg deke - X
Teach a new player something new - X

Score on the Datsyuk deke
Score a Lacrosee Goal
Play in front of fans that aren't my parents
Play hockey in Europe (probably shinny on a vacation at this stage)
Play Goalie
Score on a one-timer
Connect on a one-timer

Between wearing glasses, my bad knee, and the fact that adult hockey players can shoot hard, I'm thinking about taking the goalie thing off my list.
