Doubt they move Schenn, either - I don't see the teams as good trading partners.

I think Schenn to Buffalo or Columbus for one of their centers+ could be an interesting move.
Carter from Columbus would be nice, we'd just have to send some salary packing with him (Schenn).

Burke likes to have reliable depth on his blue line. Would you feel comfortable in a stretch run with Aulie in place of Komisarek?

If Burke trades Schenn, it'll be for a centerman, no doubt - they currently have one reliable top 6 centerman (Grabovski). Schenn is their most valuable trading chip. Unless Brayden is going back, I don't think it makes sense for TOR.

Unless Burke is THAT big of a JVR fan - but if a JVR -> Toronto trade occurred, I doubt it would happen until the offseason with JVR's injury problems this year.
Spot on, Zenith, per the usual.

maybe the scouts were just there for the nice buffet, night on the town after the game, nothing more.

there's no trades anymore, just senseless speculation.

Well, Bob Mak claims the Leafs aren't going to change their roster, so all those scouts must be there to look at Oilers.

Fail.

Do people really think that scouts just hop on a plane when there are limited numbers of games so they have something to do? Or do people think that all scouts live in Toronto? There are that many scouts at the game for a reason

Apparently it was an unofficial record for the amount of scouts to attend a single game at the ACC

Think or want?

There is a difference in believing that we are going to land a Nash or Carter, and wanting to land such a player.

Just more Leaf fan bashing, don't you have better things to do with your time then direct mindless negative energy towards a fan base 'you couldn't care less about'.

Jeff Carter should be the only realistic option the Leafs are looking at. A defensively responsible scoring center with size would fill a glaring hole on our roster. If Carter, or a player of similiar ilk, isn't available I'd prefer the Buds don't move anyone from the NHL roster until the off-season. Let's see what Toronto could do with the guys they have, just make sure they retain Grabovski.

Yeah. We Leaf fans are just attracted to these star players even though they really aren't a necessity unless someone like Getzlaf was available.

I don't think the Leafs make any major moves, if there are any moves that are made, it's in the off season.

Heard that save a killer deal coming up that the Leafs will be standing pat. So a lot of interest in the oilers, which is understandable considering that there are so many buyers and only a few sellers.

Weird that they sat Sutton, Peckham, and Khabibulin. And don't think that the oilers are thinking about dealing any of Gilbert, Smid, Petry, or Potter. Those guys have been very very good for the oil and we need more D not less.

Hemsky is going, thats it. There have been no reported contract talks, and this close to the deadline that is a pretty decent indicator.

I'm hoping some of the offers start leaking through soon. It's too hard to judge a players value until he is traded.

That's the biggest thing this offseason. Grabo plays with heart every single damn game, 5M for 5 years would be a steal for Grabo. 2nd line two way centers that are reliable in all situations are really, really hard to find.

Chicago, Washington, etc would pounce on the opportunity to get Grabo.

This exactly, doubt Burke will make any big moves unless its a huge overpayment.

I'm sure that the Flyers would love to unite the Schenn brothers, but that will cost large for Burke to even think about moving Luke Schenn.

I think alot of the scouting has as much to do with Grabovski, as it does future trading. He is likely going to be a UFA, and at this pace he might end up being a 60-65 point two way center.

You know what those make on market?

Would love if Hawks could pry away Smid from Oilers

They probably wouldn't move him but 1st + Lalonde wouldn't be bad value for them if they did
