Nope. I don't think there have been any reports of him even skating. I could be mistaken, but I'm not even sure he is close yet.

During one of the last two Puckrakers podcasts, they made mention of Juice's locker being cleaned out... not sure what that means.

It means they ran out of room with all of the call ups.

One less asset to flip at the trade deadline. Even if he somehow got healthy between now and then, he wouldn't fetch much given he hasn't played all year.

The best we can hope for now is a deal somewhat like the Modin trade.

Howson should try to package him with Carter. It's the only way that Howson will receive any asset for Juice.

If he is out for the rest of the season, can we even trade him?

Yes. As long as the other team knows what they are getting. We wouldn't be representing him as a healthy trade.

Keep in mind Juice is a UFA after this season; no team in their right mind would flip a bag of pucks for him, let alone an asset of value, in that situation.

I would rather resign Huselius than trade him. The offense has been awful for 2 years now, I don't think it's any coincidence that Huselius has been injured. With him in the lineup we are a better team. I know we've always been near the bottom offensively, but the last 2 years I think we've been sub 2.5 gpg.

Cheaper than his current contract yes, he's still worth a good 3.5-4 million when healthy, just had a couple of tough years.

Huselius is 6'2" and 184. At 33 he's not "old" but you combine his age and a reasonably slight frame, and two years worth of injuries feel, to me, like more of a trend than an exception. That'd be my concern, at least - Freddy Modin 2.0.

If I was considering resigning him, it'd only be for a short term (2 years max), "home team" discount, incentive-laden contract (if that's allowed - I can never keep straight what the NHL allows and what it doesn't).

I believe you have to be 35 or over to get an incentive laden deal like Prospal got. I would try to resign Juice for 2 years MAX at 2 million per. Of course, he would have to pass a physical and not get injured during it

The question is, can he stay healthy. It seems like this team has a higher rate of injuries then what is normal. It might be time to try and eliminate the trend.
