As long as he's not claimed, I don't think it's that big a deal. From what I understand he won't have to go through re-entry waivers, and he will definitely get called up again.

I am responding to you and others. It isn't just getting there on the forecheck. It is getting there and supporting the cycle, not seeing the puck dribble off into a group of opposition players while the Shark is sitting in a spot that doesn't do anything. It's a problem for Ferriero and Mitchell and McGinn to a lesser extent. It was a problem for Wingels which he seems to have rectified since he was recalled. What I was noticing was that Murray was frequently out of position to support in the offensive zone. It was very noticeable.

Thanks for the reminder 210 about why Murray was on a two-way.

For Desjardins, it's the exact opposite (a strength of his). He has good hockey sense and quickness to react and even anticipate where the puck will go along the boards.

Agree the others have the issue with Mitchell the most egregious since he's a vet.

It was mentioned in an article that he's 2nd in hits with the 13th ice time and very few penalties. You'd think he's useful enough on the 4th line, I can't imagine it needing to be a scoring line really (sure a few goals are needed but I think we had that with the 4th line as it was), just tiring out the other players, playing a physical game and not being scored too many goals against is all I think we asked of it didn't we ?

DW is known to be a player's GM, right?

Hopefully prospective free-agents won't shy away because of this.
He's a 4th liner who signed a two-way deal. It's not going to affect anything with free agents.

Before he got the hernia, he was productive. Didn't do much afterwards.

Since TOM isn't exposed to Re-entry, that means TOM can be recalled without risk of being picked up right?

Dumb Sharks.com didn't say anything, neither did TSN(Which did have other players with two-way deals shown).

Guess I'll stick to Mercury news for NHL news.

I don't see too many teams even looking twice at Andrew Murray on waivers. He's just not that good. There's a reason he was a 4th liner for Columbus and signed to a 2-way deal. The reason he's being sent down is more than likely just to clear a little extra room before the trade deadline. Since Vandy can play F/D they really don't need another backup forward.

I liked some of the things murray brought to the table, but to think we can't get an upgrade for a 5th round pick would be incorrect, and I'm sure DW is looking into angles like that, as well as the 2nd/3rd line players.

Cool, give the kids a few weeks to showcase themselves. Bring him back up for the playoffs.

Another forward to Worcester! Not the offensive force they might have been after though.
