Of course. I'm sure there were some that didn't care for the deal. It is what it is and there is only Penner to blame.
I was one of many who liked the Penner deal. Now I feel that we got hosed. Thee ae nights he shows up and looks geat and then I think maybe he has turned the corner. Then the next game he is back to the lazy player we see here most of the time.

Dean has gone after the big fish but he has just not landed it. I will give the guy credit for at least being in the conversation, many GMs before him were not even at the table.

That being said his job is results driven and we ant results NOW! We have been waiting long enough through one rebuild after another.

Remember if the Kings claim Stewart he cannot be waived for 30 days. So that will kill a roster spot at the trade deadline.

Gaborik was the big mistake. That was a 3 or 5 year deal that Lombardi should've just offered. He would look so good next to Kopitar right now.

How do you know Gaborik would mesh well with Kopitar? He doesn't play with B. Richards and doubt he would be an impact player in this system.

Lewis is waiver eligible, which means he won't go down. Loktionov going down wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

If the Kings do claim Stewart (which I doubt happens), then I could see them sending Loktionov back to Manchester where they could use his help (and he could use the ice time), and Lewis shifting back to C and Stewart being used at RW with Lewis and Richardson.

They could always waive someone like Trent Hunter as well.

If the Kings claim Stewart they should also waive Hunter.

I find myself wishing that DL would have just taken that chance. Sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith. But then at the same time, would Gabby find success in this system? or would he become just another victim of the system? Knowing this team and its luck Gabby would get turned into a 15-20 goal scorer here.

Not so. The 30 days/10 game thing applies to how long the waivers exemption lasts once the player has cleared.

Maybe we should play him, he did have 2 goals in 2 straight games before getting benched. Same amount of goals as Trent Hunter as a Defenseman in 28 less games.

I think they waive Hunter...considering Stewart is the same kind of player but younger.

Stewart's numbers aren't too bad and the plus four is good...

From a Cane's article:

In 50 games for the Canes, Stewart has six goals and seven assists, and has been used primarily on the fourth line by coach Kirk Muller. Stewart's plus-4 rating is the best on the team.

Plenty of teams that can use his help have shots at him before the Kings.

He won't make it to the Kings waiver slot.

Proposal: one of Scuderi/Mitchell/Greene, Martinez, and Stoll for Sharp.

But if the Kings claim Stewart then he never "cleared". I don't remember him being placed on waivers recently.
