After being bombarded by emotions after the Superbowl, I can only imagine what a Stanley Cup feels like. I'm liking these odds but like KingWantsCup said, how are Philly and San Jose ahead of us?

Might just be me but I agree with the fact that Philly and SJ are ahead of us considering there recent playoff successes. (past 3 years)

I read in our newspaper the other day that we are now 2nd favorite to win the Cup at 5-1 odds and the Bruins are 4-1 .

Doesn't really take everything into consideration. Odds are often effected by how people are betting.

Odds are calculated strictly on the amount of betting anticipated at those odds. When more money is bet on a team the odds will go down. Most sportsbooks change there odds bi-weekly for a team to win the Championship in any sport and the odds usually don,t change much. That is why in the NFL the Giants winning was costly to a lot of sports books because after the Redskins game when they were 7-7 if you bet on the Giants to win the Super Bowl the odds were very high and apparently a lot of people did

Keep in mind these odds also take into account the fact that teams will likely get injured players back.

So teams that have battled injuries all year might have depressed records over what they likely should have, and Vegas understands this.

was just going to post that.

Up until this year we were a bubble team at best.

Now we should have better odds to win a cup over teams that have been fighting for top 4 positions in their respective conference the last few years.

I personally think we are to high on the list, but that's me.

If I was a better that strongly believed the Rangers have chance to win the cup, then I would rather them at 12-1 then 5-1, 6-1 etc better bang for my buck.

Besides in the long run who cares what our odds are, they don't affect our game. I wouldn't read too much into stuff like this.
