NHL.com draft predictions

Steve Hoffner - Matthew Finn - D - "Thought to be in rebuilding mode, Finn could be nice addition to Karlsson on blue line."

Mike G. Morreale - Zemgus Girgensons - C - "The 6-1.5, 198-pound center has great potential; will not shy from contact and is passionate."

Adam Kimelman - Tanner Pearson - LW - "Third time through the draft is the charm for late-blooming offensive talent."

So fans,

discuss.

I love the fact that I think at least two of them had us passing on Cody Ceci. The one where we take the kid who has been passed over in two drafts already with Ceci still on the board was particularly funny.

These guys basically don't take any past history of how teams draft into account so I don't get how they are "predictions", I'd say they are more so "random draft rankings".

I don't like the Pearson pick... Nothing personal just don't like the idea of drafting him in the first round. Sure he is showing some great potential but I'd rather take a guy with less risk than him.

The NHL.com mock drafts are probably the WORST mock drafts you can find anywhere.

Just assume that, with the exception of the most obvious picks, that every team will do the opposite of what the nhl.com "prognosticators" predict. Hoffner is the worst of the three... last season, the guy didn't even have Zibanejad as a 1st rounder in the last mock draft he did, less than a month before the draft. The rest of his picks were almost as bad.

So yeah, take these with gigantic grains of salt.

*EDIT*
LOL at Hoffner's predictions: Isles take Malcolm Subban at 6th overall? Thanks for the laughs, you scrub. Hopefully NHL.com isn't paying you based on accuracy.

I've always found their predictions to be rather hilarious myself, but I honestly don't see any validity to that at all...

Nice of them to think we finish 10th overall though...

Grigensons would be an awesome pick-up but I also want Ceci.

I was wondering also. Collberg was way high too.

There's no chance we draft a Russian goaltender that high.

I'd take Finn out of those three. Somewhat reluctantly though

My guess is that Murray has the assets to move up at this yr's draft & will target a defenceman, likely Ceci, a 6'3" two way right shot defenceman.

Is Pearson really a 1st rounder.. thought he looked very average at WJC.
