Caron and Greene update....

Eddie Caron (UNH) and Matt Greene (UND) are two of the Oilers NCAA prospects

I saw both of them in action earlier this evening and both had excellent games for their respective teams tonight.

If you want to read about how/what they did and how their respective teams did tonight, please check out my Game Notes (see links below).

Minnesota vs. UND (11/7)

UNH vs. BU (11/7)

The future looks bright for the copper and blue. Let's all pray that the CBA works out well so we can cheer on all these great prospects that will carry on the Oiler way of playing an entertaining brand of hockey.

Another great night for Matt Greene

You can read all about what he did and how well he did it in my Game Notes (11/8): Minnesota vs. UND.

I put this on the prospect board:
------------------------
A good weekend to be a North Dakota fan. UND wins 7-3, 5-3. Vanek had to face UND's dominating defensive pair of Greene and Jones (both of whom played for the US at last year's WJCs) all weekend long, and he faded into the ice by the end of the weekend. Scoring lines for those three (note that the defensemen are defensive defensemen without a history of scoring):

Vanek 0-0-0
Greene 1-1-2
Jones 3-0-3

Matt Greene - offensive superstar?

Greene now has 4 points in 7 games. That matches his total from all of last year.

A quick question for you guys...

Go back to the draft. You have the 44th overall pick, do you still take Greene, or would you prefer Hudler????

Too early to tell which will be the better player. Hudler still has decent press but not getting any ice from the Wings. Greene is developing well so can't make an intelligent decision.

I didn't mind the pass on Hudler...the pass on Parise on the other hand
