On a sidenote, I've always wanted to try Daniel with Kesler.

Daniel - Kesler - Hansen
Booth - Henrik - Burrows
Bitz - Hodgson - Raymond

This way we don't have Bitz/Raymond etc playing those minutes, but AV is trying to send a message, so whatever.

I think they've been more than fair with the Twins. The whole team is in a funk (lucky to be picking up the points they are) but, if rattling the cage of the Captain doesn't pick up everyones game, what next?

There's no way those morning skate lines see any game action. It's a good way to send a message to people that aren't playing well and reward some guys who are. Keeps people on their toes and something like that is what the Canucks seem to need these days.

I think with Raymond and Bitz where they are, they are just trying to bump up trade interest in them, and also see what kind of production they can get out of the Sedins separated.

Sedin - Burrows. In the one game this year that line was put together each player on the line picked up 2 points and a few seasons ago Hank went PPG when that line was first put together.

Raymond - H. Sedin - Burrows
D. Sedin - Kesler - Booth
Bitz - Hodgson - Hansen
Malhotra - Lapierre - Weise

Ray Hank Bur
Danny RK Hansen
Booth Hodgson Bitz

How many scouts do you think look at morning skates and think 'Wow! We really need that guy!'? I'm guessing not many. If we see a crazy first line like that in a game then you might have a point.

That's not the first line imo, it's the third.

Looks like AV is as bored with the regular season as the rest of the team is.

But seriously,

If i were actually trying to get the 'most' out of a split-Sedin lineup, i'd want to see something along the lines of:

Booth-Henrik-Kesler ---> give Henrik some straightforward north-south shooters and hope a bit of that rubs off on him.

Daniel-Hodgson-Burrows ---> take a look at what Hodgson can do with some excellent wingers, with a bit more responsibility...hope that a desire to 'show the rookie how it's done' and try to help Hodgson out defensively re-aligns the wingers' priorities.

Raymond-Lapierre-Hansen ---> see if you can get the 3 of these guys whipped up in a bit of a Lappy-inspired frenzy. hopefully get a bit of that fire back in Hansen's game, as it seems to have tailed off lately.

Bitz-Malhotra-Weise ---> see what Bitz can accomplish without a talented pivot carrying the line.

But then really, who cares about getting the most out of the lineup. We all know that ultimately, the way to get the most out of the lineup is to have the Sedins together and on the right page. The point is clearly to wake the team up and get the Sedins to quit dinking around. And for that purpose, AV's bizarre experiment works just fine.

You must have a great mind.
