Can I say MAD PROPS to this guy getting himself back into the league, with his hometown team to boot! I will be rooting hard for him.

Read this last night, makes you realize what kind of person he is. Really pulling for him, takes a lot of heart to take the setbacks and come back stronger.

And he'll have over 100(!) friends and family in the audience according to the Flames fbook.

What an awesome story, who isn't gonna be pulling for this guy? I don't expect him to be an impact player, but I think he is capable of contributing in the NHL. Here's hoping he continues to defy all odds!

Game winning OT, in a penalty shot.

Book it.
Although, that wouldn't be too bad to see.

After hearing a story like this, how can you be mad that this guy was given a chance. Being young, and being a prospect is one thing, but stories like this make hockey a great, complex game. A game where players come from everywhere.

I think this guy is gonna be a surprise. I think he could be a similar player to Comeau.

After hearing his post game video, and watching him play last night, I could get used to him being around.

This guy takes a high stick, loses half a tooth, and get out there next shift, waiting for the intermission to get repairs, then the next period there is a dust up with brodie and o'donnell, then kolanos is right in on the action, opening up the damage again. is there room for any other organs in this guy, or is all he have a heart?

So why was Roy mad at the penalty shot anyways?

With Hamill on waivers I kind of wish we still had that contract spot now.

Hamill was on waivers previously, and I doubt his 2 points in 16 games is going to drum up any more interest.

Kolanos has played two games now, and has so far looked like another Kostopolous. Finishes his checks, plays hard, but can't create scoring chances. He'll be kept up if Jackman is injured.

I was thinking he reminded me of a more physical Jamie Lundmark.

A pretty apt comparison, IMO. He's got similar skill to Lundmark, more so than Kostopolous, but works the boards/corners in very TK-like fashion.

Yeah, Lundmark is probably a better comparison. I'm really rooting for Kolanos in the same way I was rooting for Lundmark. I would like nothing more than to see the Flames foster an epic come back with Kolanos. But it would be against all odds....

Kind of sounds like an action movie. Even the name "Kolanos" would draw an audience.

I thought Nemisz looked better in his audition last year than Kolanos has looked so far in his audition this year.

That's because Kolanos isn't much of an NHLer. Nemisz isn't right now either, but I think he will be by next year. Kolanos, as mentioned eariler, is the new Lundmark. Likeable enough guy, but should be either 4th line or injury callup and nothing more.

Just noticed. Lundmark was 1 point shy of hitting 100 career points.
