I think the Rangers carried the play in the 3rd. That said, despite the Devils running around a lot in their zone, they were recovering very well. They had great stick work tonight. That saved their bacon a lot. Which is why their PK has been so good this year. The Devils played a good game. I couldn't be much happier. Lundqvist scares the bejeebus out of me.

As far as the call is concerned, I will obviously see it differently than you guys. I'm hoping we can all agree it could have gone either way. Despite that, I do feel the correct call was made. I just don't think Gaborik was pushed hard enough for him to go into Brodeur like that.

In the end, the game was very nerve racking. Heart attacks were plentiful for me. Well not really cuz I'd be dead, but you get the idea.

I want everyone in this thread to acknowledge that the last Rangers powerplay was awesome.

You ****ing heard me.

How many chances did Richards FEED Dubi. He may not have gotten a point, but that was Richards single best shift as a Ranger.

rangers need some more offensive talent.....badly. if they want to win the cup, they need 1 more player that can put the puck in the net. either that or all their grunts need to start scoring more.

Disagree.

We desperately need somebody who can consistently score 30 goals.

We need to get more out of Richards.

I think it's time Torts puts him with Gaborik and keeps it that way for a few games. None of this "Oh it's not working after 2 shifts, time to switch it up" crap

Torts has been reluctant to split Gaborik-Stepan all season. Yes, they just had a big game on Sunday together but we're getting zilch out of Richards on the other lines. He doesn't have a true sniper to play with.

Dubinsky-Richards-Gaborik
Anisimov-Stepan-Callahan

Let's see it, Torts.

More than anything this team needs its coach to put the best 12 available players in the line-up.

I've been saying for a while that Richards and Gabby need to play together in the hope that Gabby can get Brad going, and Stepan can do the same for Cally.

I'd still leave Hags on the top line (at least to start). I also think it's time to call up MZA and go with a 2nd line of MZA-Stepan-Cally

Agreed.

We signed Richards to be our #1 center and an offensive catalyst. Torts needs to quit being so damn stubborn with him and STOP PLAYING HIM WITH RUPP, PRUST, FEDOTENKO, etc.

Richards and Gaborik are the two offensive stars of the team. Put them out there together, leave them alone and let them FIGURE IT OUT themselves. I feel like he squashed the whole idea early in training camp and has never gone back to it other than the odd shift here or there. Never has started a game with them as a line nor even put them together in a 3rd period when we were struggling to score, like tonight.

I just don't get it. He's here for another 8 years. We NEED Gaborik and Richards to be able to play together.

The LW on their line obviously could be altered. It could be Hagelin there like you suggest, or even Anisimov or Dubinsky.

Heck, I'd also be willing to try Stepan on the LW with Richards and Gaborik, and you can put Anisimov back at center and reunite him with Callahan and Dubinsky.

My biggest criticism of Torts this season is that he's so set in his ways, he's not willing to "think outside the box" like this.

Might as well give Wolski a chance if we can't score more than 2 goals a night. The dump and chase system is making me sick already. I understand were winning but the guys look exhausted after every game. By the time the playoffs roll around we won't have any energy.

Good 3rd period by the Ranger but my God, Dubi needs to finish those chances...

If torts had continued with the GAS line, and played cally Richie and dubi, I feel like we might have had a goal.

We all love Brandon Prust. He's great. He fights, he hits, he kill penalties and blocks shots.

Two things we know brandon prust can't do well?
Shoot
Pass

So why the **** is he the right winger to OUR BEST PASSER.

I don't normally mind line shuffling, but Prust is a great 4th liner, or an ALRIGHT 3rd liner.

**** it, try the pack line. Either Artie or Step, since Step was one of the last Wolfpack players.

I don't even know.

Step never played a game in the AHL. Arti is the one who played for the pack. Agreed, Prust just shouldn't be in the top six.

Just saw the No goal call. I can see it from both sides to be honest. Both fan bases have an argument.

Personally i would not have waived off the goal. Let it go into overtime and reward both teams instead of penalizing one team.

If it went to a shootout NJ probably would have won.

Yeah, Bickel been decent, but it's time for him to leave now when Eminger returns.

Neither should Artie right now, he's slowing down then first line. I want our two top lines to include:
Gaborik
Stepan
Callahan
Dubinsky
Hagelin
Richards

I hope we get to see you guys in the playoffs. I don't feel confident about the chances of the devils, but I just love watching them play the rangers. It always means so much more against the rangers than any other team.

So the only ways Debbies can win against tue Rangers are:
Stanchions and Shootouts
Horrible officiating that wanted Flopper to get a shutout.

Notice that the only time we "scored" was when:

1). We skated the puck into the zone as opposed to dumping it in
2). We crashed the net

I have one thing to say that's constructive, you guys will have a problem with outside the box thinking and a coach like tortorella.

You guys have been improving vastly from the late 90s sign the old guys to big money, a hope and a dream. However with Tortorella and his extremely disciplined system, comes a sense of predictability with line matchups. This is purely an outsider's perspective and a tidbit to help you understand what its like in a discipline driven system.
