Good move, now lets get a contract on Sanford. These are the kind veterans you need to build and develop a young team.

Ok I just have to say this, now with this development, its absolutely hilarious. Last night I had a dream which was a fight to the death between me and Vinny.

Weirdest. Dream. Ever.

Confusing but...well, I'm not complaining about keeping a guy like Prospal around. He's gonna be a good guy to have around if/when we start the rebuild again.

OH! The gentleman's agreement/family thing. It's become clear and, frankly, I think it's a great idea.

I continue to love how every free agent that comes here absolutely loves it. Anyone else think that a head coaching position is in Vinny's future here?

We are a long way from that possibility.

With all the bad press and talk about the mismanagement in Columbus, good move to wrap the organization around somebody who is known, respected, and liked throughout the league. Also sends a message that this guy who isn't shy about speaking some hard truths is going to be in the dressing room every night for the rest of his career and in the CBJ shop thereafter.

I'm very happy about this. Vinny has been a bright spot in this horrible season and a great veteran and role model to have around the younger players.

I can hear it at the ASG. And now, the starting line up for Team Prospal!

God. I am stunned. Speechless. Why am I speaking.

This is Dave Andrechuk-esqe. I hope the same thing happens to the Jackets.

Even if there is a "nuclear option" executed...I'm glad Vinny Prospal is going to be in the fallout shelter.

By next year's ASG, he'll have 250 career goals and probably 750 points, in addition to being close to 1,100 games.

All that without ever having made an All-Star Game.

If he's not on the ballot, he'll be our second write-in blitz candidate....Klesla is the other.

Finally, something no one can complain about.

Stunning, not only for the signing, but for the 'position within the organization' part. I don't care if he's an usher, the org is improved by having him in the building.

The video I'm working on just got 1,000 times better with all of Vinny's goal celebrations.

Puzzled.

I guess I'm glad Prospal's going to be back (even if I'm not as enthralled with him as most).

However, he would have certainly have gotten us a 2nd round pick at the deadline. And this move seems to indicate that Howson will be back next season.

Mainly, I'm happy that this move happened without the Dispatch knowing about it. Reaffirms my belief that they're full of ****.

My guess is Mgt likes his work ethic AND they will need a mentor for Yukapov.
