Gagner again!!!!!!! 7 goals in the last 4 games

His eruption as a player has given the Oilers a hell of a lot more options now. Paajarvi is now next in line to start producing like he can. If I was Oilers GM, I would trade Smyth at the trade deadline and save some cash for next and and have 2 killer lines with Hall-Gagner-Eberle and Paajarvi-Hopkins-xxx.

Good lord I hate watching the Wings, just like us, it's all about expecting the refs defending them, I HATE that kind of hockey.

I'd rather spend some extra dough and find a legit top 4 and then grab a cheap sturdy 6-7D like SoB-Vandermeer-Sutton (1mil/1yr). Even Hannan and Zanon would be good additions. With Gill gone, this team will really need stability on D.

Fair enough, but how many 'legit top 4 d' are even going to make it to UFA? Agree about getting a cheap, tough 6-7 guy, though.

I think that's pretty much how it went down. Anyway I don't really see how it makes Thornton a ******. He didn't have to push Pominville but I give him credit for coming to Pouliot's defense immediately.

Thornton's contract is up this year...he's one of the very few enforcers in the league I'd take on the Habs in a heartbeat, d-bag or not.

Thanks guys.. I was watching a little of the Wings/Oiler game and didn't know the Bruins/Sabre game was on TSN2.

I would take Thornton at 3 mil before Darche at 1 mil (not saying I would pay Thornton 3 mil a season). What Thornton would provide to the Habs is unreal... It would be benneficial for players like White and Moen too.

Jackman is as about a legit top-4 dman as you can find in this UFA crop once you get past Suter. He's been a key shutdown guy for years in St. Louis and has done a pretty good job of it. He gets underrated because he doesn't get a lot of points and no one plays all that much attention to the Blues these days.

If you could get rid of Kaberle and Markov comes back he'd be a great addition. If Markov is done and you keep Kaberle as a PP specialist he'd also be one of the best ways to improve the defense out there.

A big coup though would be if anyone can get Garrison out of Florida who is a 27 UFA that is quietly becoming a defensive force for the Panthers.

Free speech is a negative right. That is, no one can prevent someone from exercising it, with the exceptions of causing "harm", such as screaming Fire! in a theater, and violatng a moral precept, such as libel. Whether Thomas is being stupid or not has a solid basis will be judged by a separate set of principles. But Thomas can say what he what he said because the harm is not that much, if any. He is not immune to the backlash he incurs, but his Wall post is a legitimate exercise of the right to free speech.

Thing about Jackman is he's on the small side for a tough, stay-at-home type of guy.

What's funny is it seems every time a Bruin tries something dumb a Sabre turns around and makes them pay. Thornton shoved Pominville so he goes and scores one on Thomas.
