Only time will tell.

The Habs are in such a terrible state and constantly losing. It's a terrible environment to bring in a CHLer no matter how talented, especially in the media firestorm that is Montreal.
Exactly, the kids in. Winning environment in Vancouver under an excellent coach, and on a strong team that should go far in the playoffs.

Leave him be.

I'm not so sure about that. IMO Gallagher might be something special. Not right away, of course, but maybe by the end of his ELC. I'm very optimistic about this player. On top of his quickness and tenacity, I think he has great hockey IQ, his intelligence will be a huge asset.

Gallagher 1 goal away from franchise record, 15 assists away from franchise record, and 10 point away from franchise record

Can somebody who knows enough about Gallagher tell me why he has only played 37 games this season?

WJC? He may have been injured early on as well, but I'm not sure.

That's definitely part of it. But it seems as if he missed 17 games, so maybe he had a minor injury or something that wasn't that important and thus wasn't a huge deal on the forum.

Kept with the Habs late into training camp + WJC + minor injury.

what a boss...

but to take that into persepctive, he's chasing blum (assuming it's nashville's blum) - who will probably become a good player in the NHL, and some dude name courchaine - who? exactly.... so take that with a grain of salt

Well good for him. Too bad he got injured this season. Would have probably already broken all those records...

I wish the Habs would just rebuild. They already have a few picks that could really pan out..

The reason for this rule is that Junior teams would lose all their best players too quickly otherwise.

That means that Gallagher is better than Adam Courchaine or Jonathon Blum ?

If you are laughing at this prospect, you have zero hockey knowledge.

He will be loved in Montreal, although a tad small...he is feisty and has a knack for the net. I expect him to be in the Marchand territory, if not better.

Not necessarily. He may have just played longer.

But at his best, still not as good as Casey Pierro-Zabotel nor Craig Cunningham?

Eighteen

GPG pace: 30/37 = 0.81 ---> 0.81*18 = 14.6
APG pace: 30/37 = 0.81 ---> 0.81*18 = 14.6
PPG pace: 60/37 = 1.62 ---> 1.62*18 = 29.2

So he should easily break the points record. He's 1 away from the goals record, so that's inevitable. Only the assists record is really in question.

Gallagher, when he was cut in pre-season, told Marty McGuirre that it was starting to go a little too fast for him. He wasn't ready, he'll follow the developpement path as Leblanc, a couple of call-ups next season, maybe he'll stick, maybe not.

Exactly, its a rule for the benefit of CHL teams rather than the players themselves.

Courchaine is/was a Wild prospect who played with the Giants as an overager (he spent his 16th year with the Tigers, then played the next four with the Giants and has been playing in Germany for the last little while). Blum and Gallagher are more comparable, having spent their 16 to 20 years in Vancouver. Interestingly enough, hockeydb says that Craig Cunningham and Mitchell Bartley are also between Blum and Courchaine. Dunno why they were ignored...

Perfect replacement for Gionta whose contract is up in 2 years. Both small guys in height but all they do is score dirty goals.
