he let in two softies, remember where he couldn't cover the puck and it slid across the crease and Vitale scored? that was soft

That goal wasn't entirely his fault. First a bad giveaway and then bad defensive zone coverage.
Also, the initial shot was tipped, and thats why it was hard for him to get his glove on it (start watching at 0:35 mark).
If he slid over and made the toe save afterwards it would've been on the Sports Center Honour Roll, and possibly even the Highlight of the Night.

from what i seen, the puck hit Gus first and then hit the ice where Gus was trying to use the glove to cover it

I see a puck that bounced on the ice before hitting Gus and IMO the only explanation for that is that it went off someone's stick -- probably Bozak.
Idk...thats just what I see. Either way, it was a terrible giveaway at a terrible time, followed by bad defensive zone coverage.
Not entirely his fault in my books, though I would have been very happy if he made an unreal save to keep that puck out.

What dives me crazy is that people yell "OMG Gus allows so many soft goals",but they close their eyes when same bad luck happens to Reimer.

These goals happen to every goalie. Everyone is a friggin' perfectionist here.

What was Gus doing when he went out to touch the puck outside the trapezoid area on the delayed penalty call to Crabb?

Lucky that the refs had a brain cramp too and did not call that a penalty to put us 2 men down for 2 whole minutes. Our PK streak would have surely been over.

Thats a big problem for Gustavsson because he has the pedigree of a backup goalie....if he cannot perform every 6 or 7 games, he may not be long for the NHL.
