Lyon Messier?

Anybody have a scouting report in him. In Mark's press conference today he mentioned that his son will enter the draft.

I highly doubt he'll even get drafted. If I remember correctly, I played against this son and he was awful and all he did was trash talk since his dad was the Moose.

You don't think that Sather will use his 7th rounder to grab him?

I hope not. It'd be a waste of a pick. I really don't think he'll ever even play AHL level hockey... And yeah, that's the one that I played against that Dagoon posted. I was never a great player but my little travel team played in some tournament that he happened to be participating in. I think a few NHLer's kids where there and that was the main draw or whatever. Well, let's put it this way. He's not very good. At least he wasn't at the time...

Messier once brought his toddler son Lyon to a game in Washington. Afterwards, the youngster passed the time waiting at the team bus by slashing anyone in his vicinity with a toy hockey stick Mark had bought.
That IS funny, however. Kid also trash talks and plays dirty just like his dad does.

From what I've heard, if he wasn't related to Messier he's not even on the radar.

Don't know how true or not that is though.

Glen Sather: And with the 24th overall pick in the draft, they New York Rangers are PROUD to select the future captain of the franchise, Lyon Messier!

God I can see it now.

In other news:

A 20 page thread is being blamed tonight for crashing a popular hockey message board. The record 10,000 posts from angry fans represents a new record for the site...

with our euro scouting as good as it is, the 7th round has become important actually. just look at prucha and lundqvist.

Our Euro scouts have shown the ability to pick good high picks as well, Baranka being one.

Yeah, the way we go with our 1st rounders we're better off drafting Messier with our top pick and hanging onto the ones we have in the later rounds, hehehehehe

Don't know..but Moose was drafted in the 2nd round (48th). Wouldn't have gone that high...but the Oilers grabbed him as a local talent (St. Albert).

Wish I could be there tonight...

I'm suprised a thread hasn't been opened on best Messier moments....there's so many with Edmonton and New York (not too many with Vancouver).

That's exactly true. He's not a good player at all.
