I love Torts.

But.

Artem Anisimov | Derek Stepan | Marian Gaborik
Carl Hagelin | John Mitchell | Ryan Callahan (C)
Brandon Dubinsky | Brian Boyle | Brandon Prust
Ruslan Fedotenko | Brad Richards (A) | Mike Rupp

These are disgraceful. ****ing put Richards with ****ing Gaborik already. Stop ****ing around, *******.

I watched the Boston-Buffalo game last night. B oston lost 6-0. Bruins are something like 4-6-1 in last 11 games, starting with the loss to the Rangers. The point is, all teams go through rough periods. They don't have parades for the President'sd Trophy winner down the Canyon of Heroes. It is a marathon. I have no problem with playing Biron tonight. The idea is to get a good draw and some home games in the playoffs and be on a roll going into April.

That said, I don't know how they ever score a goal with the mismatched lines Torts puts out, and if they don't get tyhe PP going a teensy little bit (maybe 20th in the league or so - I don't expect miracles), they can't win the Stanley Cup, at least not this year.

My lines for tonight and the weked

Gaborik-Stepan-Richards
Hagelin-Anisimov-Callahan
Prust-Boyle-Dubinsky
Rupp-Fedotenko-Mitchell

Whaddya think?

There's only one thing that will solve the Rangers' offensive woes:
The entire team needs to go to Al's Magical Studio and do an interview.

The Cup is ours.

Torts needs to stop sending messages.

BR KNOWS he's slumping. He also dominated a power play last game in which him (and Anisimov) must've set up 4 or 5 guys for very legitimate chances in which Dubi flubbed on two sure goals.

Leave him with our GOOD players and let our elite playmaker, you know, ELITE playmake.

"Wahhh but Wade Richards sucks!"

Boo hoo.

Anyway, LGR! Win it for my birthday!

I was more referring to our offensive output, but 4-2 isn't that great.

That's 9 points out of a possible 12. .75 point percentage.

It's a good stretch of games standings-wise. They just need to start putting up some goals.

If we score at least 3 goals a game we'll be OK. We can.

I think he has to send a message. I'd play him 4th line minutes the entire game to get it across. While Richards knows he is slumping, Tortorella has to make it abundantly clear that his level of play recently isn't acceptable. I've got no problem with that.

We've seen all time Ranger greats like Brian Leetch get benched. You think Richards shouldn't?

The big issue is that we left 4 points to a surging Devils team that has the potential to overtake us by the end of the season.

Torts has been sending messages to Richards for a while now. Playing him with Prust on his wing.

He showed a brilliant flash of play for a PP yesterday. We've been dying for offense recently...do what you can to foster it, don't squash it.

Yeah, it's the nature of the beast. I was thinking about it last night with the Mitchell and Boyle threads. These two have earned their ice time by working hard and playing well; Torts isn't going to give a player prime ice time if he doesn't deserve it. Richards was barely out at the end of the game against the Devils, and I like the message he's sending by doing that. He came out with a great shift after that. He was also benched before that PP. And he came out on fire after that.

I can't say I like the move, but I see why he made it. Accountability for all.

Stepan and Richards on the same line is a bad idea, these two would just pass the puck between the two of them, until one of them gives the puck away, no sense of even giving them a third line mate

Now, to be fair, Richards was out there for the disallowed goal.

The way i see it, they're teaching them both to pass. Make Gabbo shoot the frickin puck when he gets it. Tell em to be selfish when he's in the zone

Anyone figure out if the game is going to be on NHL Network or not, so I can DVR correctly? My guide says MSG has the game, NHL has the Flyers-Leafs

Richards shoots plenty (just not well), Gaborik needs to shoot more.
