Not that bad of a period for us. Good zone time. Good puck possession. Winning lots of battles. Solid scoring chances. Just need to clean up a little of the sloppy play in our zone and on the break out (looking at you Halischuk).

We've reverted back to the form from 2 years ago; you know what I'm talking about.
He actually has more minors than Weber. Same amount of PIMS. And Tooto has played most of the games and he has a few majors, not counting him. And he contributes every once in a while.
Yeah I think pretty much everyone agrees smithson baby face has become pretty redundant. He jsut isnt bringing the same game he used to, along with our younger guys are just showing us they are better, way better.

In reality .... Tootoo 18 minor penalties. Weber 15 minor penalties. Smithson 15 minor penalties. Suter 14 minor penalties.
Smithson has the highest faceoff % on the team (coming into tonight he needed to lose 43 consecutive to drop to 2nd) ... he's 3rd on the team in hits behind Weber (109) and Tootoo (93) with 91.

I don't see how you all saw that as a good period. I thought it was terrible. Even Trotz said it was like an all star game with sloppy Defence. We need to lock it down this period.

I agree with you, I didn't think it was worst period ever!!!!!!!!!! but I thought it wasn't a good period of hockey.
No matter who throws any stats around about smithson, we have outgrown him and he needs to GTFO

I said Tootoo had more.. So i was mistaken him and Weber have the same when Smithson has probably had 1000000000 less minutes than Weber this year.
Ok cool, everyone knows he wins faceoffs. Thats all he has going for him, when 75% of the people here seem to have the same opinion than me you need to realize his time has come. He has no need to be a roster player. He should be a permascratch/gone.
He takes tooo many penatlies, he creates no offense, he is slow, he has a baby face, and we have plenty of youngsters who can do the job he does and some.

Trotz will always exaggerate when we make a couple defensive gaffs. Aside from those, it was a good period. Our biggest weakness, zone time and scoring chances, was good that period. Just need to tighten up defensively, which is easy to do for us.
