Carle looked like he did in playoffs against Boston.

Anyone think we should trade him to help go after Siemens? We were going to draft him, but Couts dropped to us. But the problem is, who would replace Carle? Lilja?

Carle and MAB together is a nightmare. I don't think they were over 50 perc at getting puck out of our zone.

Carle has been especially brutal the past two games. For an "offensive" defenseman, he has an amazing inability to get the puck on net and his turnovers drive me nuts.

They could get a 1rst rounder for him I think. Homer will not trade him, but I would love it if he did. They could also flip it for a younger d.

id love to get Siemens. Short of trading any of our forwards on the roster now, id be game to get him. Maybe cousins and a first?

We'd probably have to do Carle, Cousins and a 1st to tear him away. Probably more.

I Dont know why they would want carle who is a UFA. his 2 months of service is not enough to warrant a trade.

Way too much for a prospect that hasn't even played a single Pro level game yet!

Resign Carle now and scratch the first instead.
Carle + Cousins should make it happen.

I say Siemens because not only did we supposedly say we were going to draft him, but he's a big gritty guy with a decent offensive upside and an even bigger defensive upside.

We could probably go after Forbort for less though. He's another big, young D-man.

Carle wants to stay here

Quote:
"You certainly keep track of the potential market," Carle said yesterday. "Anytime somebody signs, whether it's a forward, defenseman or goalie, you're interested to see what's going on with other guys around the league.
"That's just being a fan, I guess."
Carle, 27, and Wisniewski, 28 later this month, are more similar players than the others who have signed. Wisniewski posted 81 points over the last two seasons. Carle is just behind him with 75.
Then again, Carle reiterated yesterday that he'd like to stay in Philadelphia.
"The general consensus is that hopefully something works out here," Carle said. "That's what my main focus is, wanting to be here. My wife [Clancey] and I love it here. Looking back on it, getting traded here [from Tampa Bay] was a huge blessing in disguise. This organization is a place where, no matter what, they're going to be making moves to be a contender. You want to be a part of an organization that is committed to that."

Is there anyway we could trade Matt Carle to say the Blues for Ian Cole? They might be gearing up for a cup run and it helps both teams out? We would probably have to add because of Cole's upside but could it happen? Just an idea

I bet Carle is open to a hometown discount. How about 10 years 10 mill full no trade clause, ensuring he is a flyer for the rest of his career.

FROM SPECTORSHOCKEY

PHILLY.COM: Frank Seravalli reports it’s unclear if the Flyers have had serious contract negotiations with pending UFA defenseman Matt Carle, who claims his preference is to remain with the Flyers.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Despite the uncertainty over his contract status, I don’t believe the Flyers will move Carle at the trade deadline.

well, part 1 is more important than part 2. I don't want them to have contract talks with him. Hopefully part 2 isnt true
