Get some life in this team. They played flat as **** last night.

I tend to agree with this. Can imagine that Sutter said, "If these guys are not going to play hard for me, get me some young kids who will." Lombardi had to be thinking the same thing.

Both King and Nolan can throw. They are both gigantic and will get to the front of the net because they want to be on the plane flight back to LA after the Dallas game.

The Voynov situation shouldn't be surprising. The Kings are shopping Martinez? So if Martinez is being "showcased", he's going to be playing most games, if not all, leading up to the deadline; why not keep Voynov in action? We don't know what to except with this horrible year we're having in terms of offense, we really can't tell who's on the table and who's not; who's being showcased and who's not.

Yea it's good to have a little competitive thing here.

Hunter, Penner were both benched last night in the 3rd, and those are two of the biggest forwards we have.

If those guys aren't going to lay out then give me someone who will.

On that note, I have never seen a guy has big as Hunter play so small in the corners. He does throw the body, but he is 6'4 and he gets worked in the corners.

Stoll is a genius. Fake injury and stay on IR until after the deadline. Don't get traded to Columnus. lol

Wow, Richards with King and Nolan.

Penner with Fraser and Hunter.

Year 6 of Dean Lombardi.

Actually ya know what **** it I don't care.

It's not like King and Nolan could have worse hands then Penner and Stoll.

You must not have seen him last year.

He was dreadful, but hopefully he was just too nervous to do anything last year and is more prepared for the NHL now.

I'm not sold on King. He was a total disaster last year, hopefully he's gotten the jitters out of the way.

In his first NHL games King was asked to play on the top line, as a scorer. Something he isn't even asked to do at the AHL level.

I can't believe people are going to write the kid off based on a horrible mismanagement by Murray.

Not to mention how quickly people forget Martinez's first 4 games stint in 09-10. Look how that turned out.

King plays on the top lines in the AHL.

He's looked good this year. Last game I went to Manchester which was two week ago he scored a beauty of goal. deked the goalie and slid it through the 5-hole. Hopefully he'll do well.

why can't we recall moller and holloway again? don't most euro players have an out-clause that allows them to be recalled by the Kings? I'm confused on that whole issue

That's a great point. He looked terrible those games, then came back an entirely different player.

It's basically a loan stint. Like European soccer I believe. The Kings organization pretty much allows them to be signed by another team although they still hold the rights to them technically. But as far as them being moveable assets, like you could call them up, the contract they sign in europe does not allow it.

I think the out-clause is a formality and is an emergency basis sort of thing. How many players do you ever hear of getting called from Europe to the NHL mid season? None.

Yikes, crazy lines. We will certainly get a good look at King and Nolan on the second line with Richards, though I question how optimistic we can be about such a line unless it is supposed to be our new shutdown line.

Loktionov probably should have gone down before Voynov, but it is more of a personnel problem more than anything. Don't have many spare forwards compared to spare defensemen.

I don't think there is a game that I wouldn't pick Voynov over Alec.

Here’s how the Kings lined up in practice today…

Brown-Kopitar-Williams
King-Richards-Nolan
Clifford-Loktionov-Lewis
Penner-Fraser-Hunter/Westgarth

Scuderi-Doughty
Mitchell-Johnson
Martinez-Greene

Quick
Bernier

Clearly we have a top 3

and a bottom 9.

i'm not sure what to think of all that.

Actually i like King but just in a role he fits.
I wanted him from beginning on the 4th line because of his speed.

We should really try to copy the Draper line fron Detroit a couple of years ago.

Clifford - Lewis - King
would be my first choice and even a little sign of a progressing team.

This line has enough speed and grit to really annoy opponents top lines.

beside that we don't need size and body........ we need soft hands and skill.
I really hope the Voynov thing is not a stupid move.
He will leave the organisation the first chance he gets.
