Huet or Garon?

Well... since they have been traded one for the other and I keep reading how people still want Garon... I am curious.

I'd rather Garon, but what's done is done, and I have nothing against Huet at all. The trade had to be done, so whatever.

For my own sake, I need to stop thinking about Garon so that will be a big move from my part so I will say......Huet.......(just in order to turn the page.....)

Because I agree with some of the posters, we've got to turn the pages....We won't go anywhere if we don't.

Really hard to say considering Huet has only played like 6 games with us so far.

Ask again at the 3/4 pole. If Huet has played 20 games, then I will make an assessment.

I will say this though, I like Huet the way he gives interviews. The guy looks cocky (unlike Garon), seems to be a bit of a jerk (unlike Garon), and seems to be REALLY competitive (unlike Garon). All these attributes are a must for a goalie.

Do you guys remember the home opener when they forgot to introduce him? He got pissed and took off his jersey. That shows a lot of character. Garon would have probably mmmmm's and awwwwww'd trying to explain that since he was injured for four months it was easy to forget, but that he was glad to be there.

Garon has all the tools in the world, but the biggest knock on him was his mental toughness. And they may be right since teh guy has been a failure at all levels in pressure situations (WJC, Q playoffs, AHL playoffs).

I don't know yet...the thing is that the trade wasn't Huet for Garon straight up...we were supposed to have a 15 goals, 50 points player in Bonk, but we end up with less than that. He still can put everything together but anyways, I tought the trade was very good back in 2004. Maybe we lose it after all but that's the risk in the trade. We win some and we lose some...

I agree, who wouldn't want Garon right now, especially the way he's been playing (Shutout in Boston last night - 2nd of the season).

But we've got Christobal Huet, he's been excellent and has kept us in the games he's played so far. Go Huet!

(btw, I voted Garon )

As a backup?

Huet...

As a starter...obviously Garon...

But I don't know what the point of this is, everyone knows Garon > Huet...

The question that should be asked in this poll is

Who would you rather have as a backup?

Garon @ 1.2 million
or
Huet @ 600k

We didn't trade Garon to get a starter back, we traded him to get an inexpensive backup...

Definitely Garon, but I could be biased by the fact that I am a Kings fan

Agreed, although it think its more of a pleasant surprise than a good job by the Habs. I doubt he was actually highly sought after by us. The key for us was *gag* Bonk at the time.

He has impressed mightily though.
