That was painful to watch! It must be a bad break to be out for the season.

First, this just sucks, but what else would you expect this season? Methot is one of the guys you don't notice much on the ice, but you sure notice when he's out of the lineup.

Second, how about cages in the NHL already? In addition to these types of injuries, and the eye injuries, how many concussions could be avoided if we protected the players faces better?

@smitchcd Curtis Sanford will not make trip to Minnesota. His back flared up late in last night's game.

@smitchcd D Marc Methot will have surgery to repair his broken jaw today. F Jared Boll (broken foot) could return as soon as next week.

I look forward to the day that I don't see him in a CBJ sweater. I don't want to seem him injured, but I will not miss Methot one bit.

This, from Richards, amused me...

Quote:
Boll could return as soon as next week, Richards said. “It’s just going to be a pain tolerance thing for him,” Richards said. “Once he can get his foot back in his boot and there is no pain he can play.”
So he must have tolerance of no pain before he can play? Good news is that he could be back in a week or so. Who knew a broken foot could heal so quick? Maybe someone should tell Carter?

Perhaps what Richards was looking for is "As soon as he can put on the boot and not pass out from the pain he can play"?

A broken foot isn't the same injury for everyone. There are a lot of small bones and a lot of connective tissue and muscles in there; someone who breaks the 5th metatarsal is going to have a lot more problems than someone who breaks something else. Of course, then there's the difference between a hairline fracture and a complete break.

I see what you did there.

How many man-games on the blueline have we lost to injury? I'd wager it's near the top of the NHL.

I thought I read somewhere he may play tonight but I don't see him on the ice or box score... I may have missed new information on this...
