Nolan said on Hammond's site that he is a LW but has been playing on the RW this year with Vey and King...so the Kings are keeping the combo together but they now have the luxury or having another big body LW to move around.

LW: Brown (natural RW), Penner, Clifford, King, Richardson (natural C, but shoots left),
RW: Williams, Hunter, Nolan (natural LW), Lewis (natural C, but shoots right), Westgarth

I don't mind Slava being sent down. A-Mart has been better than him the last few games and Slava will get some quality minutes in Manch. And we know we can call him up when needed.

I don't really care for Dwight King, but I love the way Jordan Nolan plays.

Martinez has looked from from impressive these last few games. Coughing up pucks all over the place(especially the d-zone) and he looks hesitant out there.

sigh, it sucks that that last sentence is true

Holloway did the right thing.

Dean slapped him in face by calling up players over him that he had clearly out performed...and regardless of what Lombardi says now, there's no reason to think the same thing wouldn't happen again.

Holloway didn't do the right thing.

You put your time in in the minors and be patient. For ****s sake he was 22. on his 2nd professional season.

Grow a pair, man up, play hard and get your chances when the come. Don't run and cry to sweden. When you don't get a shot IN YOUR 2ND PRO SEASON

I didn't see Lewis do that, or Martinez or Westgarth or Scott Parse. I don't see Hickey, Campbell, Cliche, Zatkoff, Mullen doing that.

Selfish. Not Deans fault at all.

Bud was in his 3rd pro season. This year is his 4th.

If you're clearly out performing your co-workers, and those co-works continually get promotions over you, wouldn't you look for opportunities elsewhere?

Holloway didn't "cry," he handled himself with class and made a professional career decision; a decision that has pro and cons like all others. The situation of the other players you mentioned isn't comparable, and if you can't see why, then you're not getting my point.

Pretty much.

It's either being a HS or get some playing time down in Manchester.

I like the addition of King and Nolan. This team needed an identity and DS obviously thinks it needs to be tougher, and I agree. Of course, they're not going to help much in scoring, but who knows...

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but it's also possible that King and/or Nolan may be being showcased for a trade.

Players in Detroit's system wait years for a chance. Holloway would be playing in the NHL right now, that is his bad.

Moller, I can understand, he has had a few chances and just needs to get bigger.

Highly doubt that.

There's a high possibility that Dean would have called up King, Nolan etcetera over Bud. That's Holloway left. He didn't think Lombardi would give him a chance even if he was outplaying his colleagues.

Lombardi clearly stated when Holloway left that he was next on the depth chart. And when Williams went down hurt last year, if it had been more long term Holloway was getting the call up.

because he only played 38 games his first professional season, this would be his 3rd full season with the team, and only his 2nd last year.

And I am sorry how is not calling your GM until you are already on a plane to Sweden, not answering his phone calls, and then having your agent call and say "Bud went to Sweden" handling it with class? and Professionalism?

And for the record he was the leading scorer on the Monarchs with 47 points, in 75 games. That's not exactly a huge number. Elkins trailed him by 4 points.

You make it seem like he was putting up 90 points and not getting a call up.

In fact Scott Parse and Loktionov were on a much better scoring pace. And go figure they got called up. But I bet you think that was unfair right? Cause Holloway was head and shoulder above everyone else on the team.

Lombardi on Holloway.

Quote:
"In Holloway, we were talking at the deadline, we almost called him up. Now, is he ready to be a regular? But, when Justin Williams went down, he (Holloway) got himself on the board, where we had National Hockey League people saying 'You know what, let's give him a shot.' And that's how close he's starting to come along. Now, to go to Europe? It's mind-boggling to me, other than the money's so much different. So, you go over there and you earn $120-grand, or 120-Euros or whatever, it's tax free. You get a car and an apartment. There is a big gap, you know. But, usually the guys who do that...are 26-27 (years old) and they've kind of already been labeled as 'minor league players' and maybe a 'call-up.' But, when you're dealing with 22-year olds, this is mind-boggling - for these kids, where their whole dream was to play in the (NHL)."

Yup sounds like Lombardi was really ready to bury him in the minors............

The bolded part is why I think Holloway is selfish and ignorant.

Even Rich Clune hinted that it was all about money, and he was surprised by Holloways choice in an interview with Mayor.

Quote:
Over the weekend I posted a conversation with another Kings prospect, Rich Clune, who half-jokingly acknowledged that these guys might be going there for 'the mighty dollar,' as he put it.
Quote:
Actually, (Moller) was good about saying 'I'm not going there to quit.' I think in his mind he did have to grow a little. He's still a kid. So, there is just a fact that he's going to mature and start growing a beard more. I think he realized that there's a physical part of it, that he's gotta just grow up. But, Bud, I was really surprised with."

I call BS on that bro.

You can not sit there with a stright face and tell me; Bud Holloway would have not beat out (Trent Hunter or Ethen Freakin whoever the hell you are), For a roster spot.

Bud would have been in the NHL.

I don't even like Lombardi.

It's pretty sad that so many are excited that Two Grinders are gettting called up to play Big minutes.

The Kings roster sucks on the Wings.

I don't think the Voynov move is long term, no way! But man when the first call ups are Nolan and king from Manchester, uuuumm our prospect pool needs major retooling!

Yes, the forward prospect pool needs some retooling, defense and goaltending is arguably the strongest in the league.

NOLAN: In the last year, Ive been trying to find my game. The coach down there, Mark Morris, hes kind of brought me along nice. Im just trying to keep things simple. I play the penalty kill down there, play the power play, and just try to bring a physical presence. Ill stand up for a teammate and score the odd goal. I just try to work my hardest and keep things simple for the team.

Dean Lombardi hockey at its finest.

Hey, no argue about that. But I also miss some other components, that are never mentioned and are important for the offense better than 30th.
