I love how "Jeff Carter to the Rangers. Write it down." turns into Jeff Carter to the Rangers all but done.

Think I'll go create a Twitter account, like "RangersInsider" and tweet that "Carter to Rangers not happening" and just go with that.

If there's any truth to this, it would be interesting.

Anisimov + Wolski + Zuccarello + Thomas + 1st

Wouldn't give more than that.

2nd + Valentenko = Gaustad

Hagelin. Stepan. Gaborik
Carter. Richards. Callahan
Dubinsky. Gaustad. Fedotenko/Mitchell
Rupp. Boyle. Prust

I really hope these Carter "rumors" are just made up. I really do not want this team to take on that contract. If you want to bolster the offense, stick with a rental or go after Ruutu.

The length is heck of a long contract. But it's under 6 per year. And he's 27.

Id be concerned about the night life and laziness more than anything else.

Guy can score though.

Much rather Carter and his 35 goals for $5.2 million than Ruutu and his 20 goals for $3.8

Sure alot of hate going on around here regarding Carter. Here is my take on the Carter situation, believe what you want.

My family is somewhat close with the Carter family, as Jeff's mom is my dads secretary. I honestly have no idea what happened with him in Philly, but I can tell you that Jeff is a pretty nice dude and I've seen him a few times in my hometown over the past two years. Hes an unbelievable hockey player and fills an offensive need on this team. If you think hes going to be "partying" too much or being lazy, I would say you will be pleasantly surprised (assuming we land him which we probably won't).

I honestly believe that he was shipped out because of the situation regarding Hartnell and his wife. I really don't know the specifics or the truth to the situation, but I can tell you that Jeff hates being in Columbus.

After watching this game it is VERY obvious to me that the Rangers need a top-6 d-man at the deadline. They need someone who can play 15 minutes at least every game and possibly add some size and toughness to the back-end.

Bryan Allen
Andy Sutton
Pavel Kubina

Those should be the targets.

They don't need an all-star, just someone to play a solid 12-15 minutes a game.

So I take it you don't think Eminger can fill that role?

I would rather have Eminger as the #7 in case of an injury and bring in a guy who is or can play in the top-4 if need be.

I've voiced this concern before about our D, but they are very inexperienced when it comes to the playoffs. Del Zotto and Stralman have yet to skate in a playoff game. Past cup winners have had at least one veteran defenseman with substantial playoff experience. Right now Girardi is our most experienced playoff defenseman, it may not be enough.

I bet they were looking at Bobrovsky. I don`t think we are interested in Carter.

If Sauer isnt gonna be back I agree with this. If he's gonna be back I dont think its necessary unless. Stralman has shown he can play in the top 6.
