Sign Brandon Prust for the 4th line LW spot.

Bye Darche!

During the Penguins game, in overtime, Darche took three shifts. In a five minute overtime, this useless tool took three shifts. What the hell? Get this tool out of the lineup ASAP.

You cite those guys like they are comparable players. Drew Miller is twice the player that Matheiu Darche is with more than twice as many points.

The guy will be 36 years old next season and he doesn't bring anything else other than being a "nice guy".

Give me a 700K NHL contract when I don't deserve one and I will be nice to everybody too.

There are tons of players who have heart like darche, and can play on the pk like darche... but who are tougher.

I honestly like darche as a 4th liner, but this team needs some more grit.

If Darche is back next season I am not going to watch a single Habs game and I will not go to the usual four games per season that I attend live.

3 realistic opportunities for him if we don't resign him...

Assistant coach... small chance.

or playing in europe / AHL...excellent chance.

or full time member of anti-chambre... 100% chance.

The fact we won the last 3 games and that he played major minutes in those games makes it interesting nevertheless.

If his presence can be one of those intangibles that can help the team have success this year, so be it. If his pride and passion for the team can be contagious, I'm ok with it.

Still a lot to do to deserve a contract with this team next year though.

Very interesting. I fully expected him to say "I wish to be traded; do not want to re-sign with Habs." That's disappointing.

The only reason CH signed him cause his from Quebec. He doesn't deserve a spot with the team, time to move on. They should have tried to keep Lappy, local guy who can play hockey and be useful...real popular with the fans here in Vancouver.

Why u hating on the guy because he plays 20 min?
Hate on the coach for putting him there.
And if the coach puts him there, its probably because in his eyes he plays defensively good enough to be there.
I say if he plays like at the beginning of the year, dont re sign him, but if he keeps on playing the way he plays, we might need him for another year as a 13th until all the youth come up from Hamilton in 2 years.

I have no problem with the dude, but there's no reason to keep him here. He's old, doesn't contribute on the stat sheet much and serves no real purpose to be honest. Much rather have a traditional 4th liner who's willing to play tough, drop the gloves and yada yada. I could just name two guys off the top just like that, who have more points than Darche and who are willing to do what a bottom 6 player should: Prust, Thornton and Winchester.

Plz, no more Pyatts and Darches on the bottom 6. Sure, they're decent on the P.K. and are hard workers, but what's the point of having them if we can have tougher players who are willing to do so much more while producing the same amount of points if not more?

I could honestly care less about what Darche wants lol also really don't care if he's there next year or not as long as we have Subban / Price locked up and one of Kaberle or Gomez gone.

While I was all for him coming back this year, next year I feel better options will be available and really hope he is not back.

yeah. Darche decides by himself to jump on the ice and play...

Come on. Pro coaches know more about hockey and a player value than you.

Like him or not, Darche is a valuable, cheap asset for this team.

Playing 20 minutes a game is not 14th forward material. But that's not his fault.

And yes replacing him by another kind of player is an urgent need. This other kind of player is the one who will hit, score once in a while and drop them when needed. If only some of our guys were willing to drop them to protect their teamates, I would be more patient.

I have nothing against Darche the person but I can't stand having Darche the player on this team when he doesn't bring nothing at all on the table. And I could not care less if he's a nice guy. Same thing with Gomez. If your only asset is to be a nice guy, sign a contract with the Ice Capades. Enough of that ********! If you can't produce offensively, do something else to help this team. Otherwise, GTFO!!!!!

I could see him being re-signed for league minimum, but to ride in the press box and eventually resign. I'd prefer to give ice time to Leblanc on Pleks wing more than Darche.

Well he does have a point. He was needed for media purposes. So he is the Ian Lafrenniere of the Habs.
