#56, 2/11/12, Kings lose to Islanders 2-1

Another loss to another weak team who has no defense. Not looking good, onto the next game...

Unbelievable, looks like Lombardi is going after this season. It may be time for a new coaching staff, new GM. I love Lombardi just as much as the next guy but he has done some questionable moves. Sending down Voynov? wtf, Martinez does not deserve to be up here.

I'm having serious doubts about this team making the playoffs.

Again, not questionable...

Defense isn't the problem, offense is, in order to call up two forwards, SOMEONE had to go down, it HAD to be Voynov.

OR

He is showcasing Martinez in an effort to make a trade, either way VOYNOV was going down to the minors instead of being a healthy scratch.

Martinez didn't lose that game ffs.

I'm sad.

Sucks for Martinez, he was real solid for an extended amount of time but since coming back he's been awful. Awful awful awful. Very reminicent of how Drewiske was solid with Greene for about a season, lost confidence and got benched a bit, then was never the same. Hopefully it doesn't happen to Martinez who has shown some flashes of being a potential #4.

King and Nolan were good... But seriously, unless they start scoring more than 1 goal a game on a consistent basis this team is heading to the gutter.

I feel so bad for Quick. He should get consideration for not only the Vezina but the Hart as well. What an unbelievable player. He is the only reason this disaster built by Dean Lombardi is even sniffing a playoff spot. If I were Quick I would not sign long-term with a Dean Lombardi managed team, the guys best years are being wasted because the general manager has built a team that is DFL in goals scored in the NHL.

Just can't wait for this long nightmare to end...only a few more months and Dean is gone.

You think Lombardi is still loved by this fanbase? Maybe at this time last year or over the summer, not any more.

I think his approval rating is well below 50% at this point, sure you have the fans that will go down with the ship, but I think most fans now see what us "pessimists" have been saying for years about the kind of squad he was trying to build.

New coaching staff? Do you want to keep Sutter?

The worst possible outcome of this season is to finish 9th in the standings and not improve at all. What a pathetic game. Doughty should play forward, he's the only player on this team that can walk through the defense.

I hate Dean Lombardi. Ever since we took Hickey, i knew he was on the pipe. Poor Quick, guy plays amazing but the team has nothing to show for it. Brown is a crap of a captain. We need to fire errrrrbody!
