Quick was not happy. He was down the tunnel about as fast as he could go

If Lombardi and Sutter are gone because of a 9th place finish, then that wouldn't be the worst outcome. Finishing 9th and keeping Lombardi/Sutter for another season would be the worst.

Drew is the only one who is improving, he's got his **** together. He's the only one who knows how to enter a blue line, he's just my only hope.

Oh please, not this **** again. Brown won a tough board battle at the end of regulation to even send this game to overtime and was directly responsible for our one goal.

The Kings had more then 30 shots and only 1 goal. That is terrible.

Don't even speak of such things.

The positives:
Voynov will be back up soon
Nolan looked pretty good
Loktionov "scored", hopefully he gets some more
Doughty is looking pretty good
Quick is a top five goalie in the league

The negatives:
Everything else

Now that the newness of Sutter has worn off, it's all down hill from here.

At least this game proved how worthless Stoll and Penner are. They get replaced by two AHL grinders and the line instantly looks better.

I've been somewhat positive about this season but this road trip has to shake the confidence of even the most optimistic fans. This should be an interesting off-season if things continue to trend this way.

The last two seasons the Kings made the playoffs largely on the strength of impressive showings on the long February road trip. This season...

Why the **** are they still showing the "This is the team LA has been waiting for" commercials. I hope to god that nobody was actually waiting for this.

Now we can go lose to Dallas tomorrow. Teams we need to lose are actually starting to lose and we can't score more than 1 goal to start winning. Terry Murray 2.0 behind the bench and surprise. All the problems we had before are still there.

Agreed 100%

My nightmare as a Kings fan is Lombardi somehow becomes the Kings version of Norv Turner and somehow keeps coming back despite the pathetic results.

I would rather miss the playoffs and have Dean fired than finish 7th or 8th if it means another year of this god awful boring hockey that has no chance to win a championship.

Because the problem was never Murray. I tried to argue with people on this board who blamed Murray and used him as a scapegoat for the failures of this awful roster. TM coached exactly the way Lombardi wanted him to. The problem is Dean Lombardi, the same problem this team has had for six seasons. AEG should never have let him hire a third coach. Lombardi should have been dumped at the same time Murray was. It could have maybe salvaged the season, now we are stuck with a desperate GM who has hired three coaches who can't get the job done. Lombardi now enters the deadline a desperate man, with his own head on the line, that is a recipe for disaster.

I don't know if Sutter stays with the new management that'll be coming in. I think the only reason he came back to coaching was his relationship with Lombardi, tbh

Another 1 goal scored and loss but at least they get a point. Despite my earlier rant, some good things:
Richards looked better between the 2 rookie big bodied wingers; the line actually cycled the puck well at some points in the game
Penner wasn't dressed
Moving Richards to the point on the PP seemed to provide some spark- better movement of the puck in the offensive zone
Quick made some good saves and although the Kings out-shot the Islanders, my sense was that Quick had the more difficult saves

Bad things:
Don't like Justin Williams- is there no-body else they can try with Kopitar and Brown?
Martinez needs to do a better job on the game winner
Kings don't appear to have any-one that will go out there at a critical time and provide a spark with a fight or heavy hit- you'd think that Brown, with his size, would try something to get his guys fired up

Oh well- on to Dalles- that should be really really exciting!

Sutter is still using Terrys system. Hes changed very minimal. It would take awhile to learn a complete new system.

We are not making playoffs if we can't score more than a goal.

Exactly. Maybe we should try Kozun and Vey to replace Hunter and Richardson. Because those two guys are worthless at best.
