FYI... Toffoli's goal last Sunday against Kitchener moved him into 5th place on the all time goal scoring list for the Ottawa 67's. He passed some guy named Jim Fox.

I have been in Portland, Seattle, Surrey and am now in Vancouver watching WHL games.

I will be in Kamloops and Kelowna this coming week then I will be in Regina to watch Weal and will post my observations.

Then down to Spokane to watch the Cheifs. A real western CA roadie.

I have been asked to post what I saw and will once I am done.

Not thrilled with Forbort so far, hopefully his next two years he begins showing why LA moved up to get him.

I feel the same way.

Dean has drafted well from the 2nd round on, but his 1st round drafting has been pretty awful.

Meh, I'm not that high on Etem. Sure he's doing well in juniors, but I'm not so sure his game will transfer well to the NHL. I'd take Forbort over him any day. Etem fell all the way to 29 for a reason, you know.

Toffoli is leading the OHL player rankings from TSN.

Andreoff is also on the list at #32.

Can't wait to see both in training camp next year.

Hey .....is it significant that Toffoli's OHL numbers are superior to Rick Nash's OHL numbers???

Brett MacLean had 61 goals in 61 games in his age 19 year of juniors as well. I like Etem as an ambassador for Southern California hockey, but there are significant question marks about whether or not he plays too much of a perimeter game to be successful in the pros.

Comparing a 19 year old OHL season to a 17 year old OHL season isn't exactly apples to apples.

Big deal, we took Weal in the third round and he's doing just about as well as Etem considering he leads his team in scoring by over double. Not to mention, Weal leads the WHL in +-.

That's been the plan I think even right from Dean's mouth is to let him develop there the full 4 years.

Hey everyone,

I know Toffoli is having an absolute kick-ass season. Curious how do you see him fitting into the Kings future? He's 19 so this will be his last year correct?

Curious, where he fits in? Could he crack the LA Kings next year?

And what do you see as his limit? I'd appreciate as less homerism and as most objective as possible but I understand this is the Kings board and everything.

Highly doubt he cracks the lineup next year. He'll probably spend a year (two at the most) in Manch before cracking the lineup. If he pans out, and that's a huge if, I expect him to be a good top-six forward.

I'm debating between him and Rattie in my keeper league.

So the huge-if is my debate.

I appreciate the answer.

He's the only true offensive talent in the Kings' system right now, so the pressure on him is going to be huge. He clearly has the pure goal scoring ability, but who knows if that will translate to the NHL. If the Kings continue to play the same conservative, cycling low-to-high system they currently employ, I really don't see him doing much for the Kings.

I'd take Toffoli, just because I think he's more of a pure goal scorer and he's the best offensive weapon the Kings have in their system (besides maybe Lokti)

Kozun, Vey, Kitsyn and Shore don't count as offensive talents? I do see your point on the Kings system possibly stiffling Toffoli's game though.

They're definitely offensive talents. I was thinking about them when I wrote that, too. Maybe I should have said "pure goal scorer" instead. He's the most boom or bust out of the ones you listed there.
