Tank or not, that was awesome.
Darche has been great since the break, we won't see him score like that often but he does his job defensively and he's a PK beast.

And I'm thinking Plek might have had a nagging injury that he's had time to heal a bit during the all-star break. Hope he's okay and Max too.

Also Eller owning Phaneuf was amazing. So was the celebration, shades of Plekanec, gangsta.

The DD line was great again and the Subban and Gorges pair quietly had another solid game. (Well maybe less quiet for Subban he's hard not to notice out there)

I could go on and on about everyone after a game like this but let's not forget:

NHL Statistician@NHL_STATS

C. Price in last 7 days: 4-0, 2 shutouts, 0.98 GAA, .967 Sv%

So weird seeing this team have luck on their side considering how much it has screwed us this season. It's been a while.

CBC are a joke...imagine if Eller's goal had been scored by Grabo???

How about that shot of Burkie, trying to hide behind 4-5 cups of coffee upstairs in his office...The ExLeaf gang, Domi, Newy, Roberts and the gang witness the beatdown...

All fun and great to see us with the possibility of finishing dead last to get a great pick.....but I'm sorry to say that whenver we score or make a great play, I'm just feeling it as I feel it all season long....extremely happy to see this. If you have to lose, well might as well lose big. But people, and it's not to remove anything from our play lately, but it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE TO MAKE IT. Look at how incredibly weak the East is and you know that we truly have a chance to be back in this. Actually, I think that making it is not even the point. It's already wondering how good we could look against the Rags or the Bruins.

It was weird to me. Didn't seem like a slewfoot..but regardless, he can't do anything that resembles one.

Regardless, he is playing awesome and I'm glad we are saying the "real" PK. Team playing great. Love it.

Nobody will say that he stole the game but at the end of the day he really is the reason why we won. The Leafs were all over us and he stood tall and gave our guys a chance to regroup and win this thing. Ditto with the Islander game from the other night. Price is on fire again and when he plays like this we can beat anyone.

Also great to see Pacman scoring so consistently. The more I see him the more I like him. Him Price and PK... great trio to build around.

Now I understand why Darche have played almost 20 minutes in the last few games.

Every one played very well tonight, except Palushaj and Kostitsyn.

Cool. It looked like he was holding his wrist weird to me, glad it was just a high stick. He's Wolverine, to him it is but a flesh wound.

Habs have a lot of young players it is better for them to fight to the end then give up. It will make them stronger, losing can instill poor work ethics in young players. Besides Timmin's is pretty good at finding players in the draft, management just needs to show more patience and not trade away his picks too early.

What a pathetic network rooting for the professional losers. Mats Sundin night, Johnny Bower night, Tie Domi night, blah blah blah blah. That is a playoff team,

Campoli is still terrible too, though at least he blocked some shots.

He was great tonight, but I think it's more ridiculous that, our 1st pairing NHL defender, Pernell Karl Subban did not get any of the stars. Price was a lock for a star, Plekanec was (imo) better than Darche. But Patches didn't really deserve a star of this game.

People keep saying how we'll need 93 points or whatever to make it because that's what it took last year but this year it will definitely be a lot lower, like you said the East is incredibly weak.

The thing is we have a lot of games remaining against teams who are above us in the standings remaining:

3 vs. Ottawa
2 vs. Toronto
2 vs. Washington
2 vs. Florida

Its a tough hill to climb but if the Habs could win a good portion of those games the playoffs are still possible.

It really doesn't compute...

Habs are 11th in their Conference standing

BUT

10th for goals for
4th for the goals against
6th for the diff. at 0 between goals for and against

In the whole NHL standing

They are 23 rd !

BUT

15th in goals for
12th in goals against
13th in difference between goals for and against

I'm hoping they still trade the UFAs that aren't coming back next year for picks.

We've had some blowout wins and no real blowout losses.
