Good luck with that.

We will still be a lottery team.
Sorry, my math was out.

I really do believe there is a plan in place with our management after our failed whale huntings(where the Heatly comment came from). Now let's hope that it works for all us fans.
Bah...no worries.

Sometimes things get a little amped up in these disagreements.

We are clearly both fans of the team.
I don't hate management I just don't believe in the plan as it currently exists. I also haven't seen enough evidence to allow me to believe that Tambo is the man for this job.

I can also come off as a little terse.

I am in the minority with my opinion on most things and thats okay.

I am used to that.

Interesting to read IATL and Guymez argue essentially the same point. Sorry IATL, but Guymez just seems to make his point so much more rationally and with some kind of reason.

BTW IATL, I like that you conveniently forgot why Tallon was fired from the Hawks:

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2...owman-contract

Can't imagine how you would react towards Tambo if he made such a boneheaded gaffe.

And I'm not even saying he's a terrible GM. I actually think he's pretty good. But that was a fairly inexcusable error.

Gee...thanks.

For some reason I can't see IATL's posts...its kind of weird because he isn't on my ignore list (nobody is).
I spoke to a mod about it and it was a mystery to him too.

Kind of funny that we are arguing the same point though...thats gotta be a first.

Yeah, I know we disagree on some points, but I think IF Potter slides down the depth chart next season (6-7-8 D-man) and is replaced with capable top 6 talent, we'll both be happy.

Of the D-men available this off-season, the Oilers definitely would've been better off snagging Ian White or Hannan, but it does take 2 to tango, so who knows if they had any interest in going to Edmonton.

Well...as far as the defence is concerned lets hope this off season isn't a repeat of last off season.

Maybe we can also agree that this team really needs to start improving their position in the standings. I think they need to make the playoffs next season or at the very least have a late season run.

Yup ... agreed. I do think there has been improvement this season, but yes, next season should be far more obvious improvement (ie, wins and standings).

If we have the same offseason, I'll be thinking the same as you this year. Players should want to play with Eberle, Hall and RNH after seeing what they can do. Big whale hunting should be back in order.

Without wading through all of the posts in this thread, with all of the bemoaning about Potter's play of late, has anyone actually pointed out that this is essentially Potter's rookie season?

He has less NHL experience than Peckham and Petry and prior to this season, roughly the same amount of game play as Alex Plante.

Would there be the same degree of criticism if he was, say, 5 years younger?
