Voracek (upper body) non-contact jersey, Feb 15; E. Wellwood recalled, Feb. 16

His status for tonight's game at Detroit is still undetermined.

Flyers' Twitter:
Quote:
GM Paul Holmgren announced that forward Jakub Voracek has an upper-body injury and will travel with the team to Detroit
http://www.courierpostonline.com/art...llege%20Sports

Quote:
Voracek injured: Winger Jakub Voracek, one of seven Flyers to play all 55 games this season, is questionable tonight after leaving Saturday’s game early with an upper-body injury.

Voracek was hit hard 6:45 into the second period by Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh. He continued to play for a short time, but called it a day after taking a shift with about four minutes to play in the second period.

There was immediate speculation that Voracek might have suffered a concussion, but the Flyers’ only postgame update was a statement from general manager Paul Holmgren, announcing the 22-year-old Czech “has an upper-body injury and will travel with the team to Detroit.”
There was no morning skate, Sunday. He will be a game-time decision for the Detroit game.

Hope this means he just got a little shaken and will be good the next game. But please god, if he does have a concussion, do not use him like what happened with JVR (played with possible problems).

I'd try to move him for a young d-men in off season. Him instead of JVR.

Voracek has no finish.

I don't get the love for him, sure he hustles but so did Powe. The guy just has no finish. I'd also like to see them move JvR if it means getting a good, young dman back.

I'd be down for that if the return is right.

Eric Wellwood has been recalled by the Philadelphia Flyers. He is meeting the team in Detroit and can play in today's game there.

Powe also never put up 50 points in a season.

It will be nice to see Wellwood get a chance over Harry Z. Watching the Caps rags game and have to turn the volume down. Talk about a rags lovefest.

Let him rest if he need to, and play Wellwood instead. There's no need to make him play through injury like JVR did. That obviously didn't turn out well.

Man oh man, you are almost as negative as me, and that's saying a LOT. If Voracek worked on his accuracy a little, he would probably be a 60-70 point scorer. He has the speed and size to create a lot of room for himself for a shot, unfortunately I have yet to see him truly snipe one this season off of that kind of play.

Powe is an awkward comparison he would struggle to get 15 points in a season.

Voracek reminds me of a bigger stronger, slightly slower version of Maxim Afinogenov. When you watch him play he looks like he has all the tools to be a strong NHL talent but they aren't all clicking. Maybe he won't ever get it but given the fact that he just turned 22 I am hesitant to label him hopeless and kick him out the door. Though for the record if it was JVR or Jake I would keep JVR.

I'm honestly surprised no one has really mentioned how often his shots go high and wide, especially considering who he was traded for.

Speaking of him. Does anyone have that old Jeff Carter beer goggles photo?

That's because he doesn't lead the team in shots on goal.

I think Voracek is a player that everything will click in the near future. He's going to start shooting more and everything else will open up.

That's why Wellwood has been recalled to replace him. Eric Wellwood can't score if his life was depending on it

Wellwood is playing tonight.

Voracek DOES NOT have a head injury.

Holmgren will likely provide more info before the game.

That's good. But this franchise has to find a cure against that virus anyway.
