Any idea about David Ullstrom?

Does anyone have a clue when or if he's coming back?

He's been back for a little bit but playing in the AHL right now.

My guess is that he'll get a couple of games late in the season if no injuries occur before then.

He's playing for the sound tigers.. They called up Rhett so Ullstrom will probably stay down. Although I did like his game while he was up here.

after Nielsen and Parenteau are traded and Nino's sent to Portland.

Then we'll see Cizikas, Ullstrom, Rakhshani in the lineup.

If Snow can find a way to get the "2nd round picks" in the line-up from the Nielsen-PAP trades, that would be cool.

(I HOPE I'm kidding)

He is playing again, but he's not really scoring at the moment.

Looks like that injury really threw him through a loop.

In his 10 games back, I think he's gone 2-2-4.

Can someone who watches the Sound Tigers tell me why they have been successful? I have looked at the lineup and they do not look like that much of an offensive threat. Does the defense play really well? What is it?

Coaching plays a big part in it as well. Brett Thompson knows what he's doing.

Serious question...How do you know?

Stands to reason that Capunano didn't know what he was doing and shouldn't be coaching the NHL club, much less the AHL one.

Serious answer... he doesn't.

Team plays well = coach "knows what he is doing"

Team does poorly = coach "doesn't know what he is doing"

Probably should've reworded that. Thompson SEEMS to know what he's doing. I do know that guys like DiBenedetto and Ullstrom were not with the team for a while due to injuries/call-up and Reese is up with the Isles. There are also a bunch of ECHL guys on the team that they brought in and they're doing very well like Mouillerat, Oleksy, Landry, Howes, etc.

He also brings a lot of grit to the club. They're not exactly the most skilled team in the A, but he seems to make the team work hard every night, something Cappy doesn't seem to do. I mean the team was down 2 with 5 minutes left in a game against Syracuse and they came back to win in a shootout. Pretty impressive to me, and I definitely think coaching plays into part in it.

Talk about no names. These players came out of nowhere and have been successful.

Here's the highlights from that 6-2 game. Cizikas makes a filthy pass for Romano's goal at the 5:26 mark

Man, Cizikas looks damn awesome. The acceleration and then desperate dive for the pass... Can't wait to see him on Long Island next year.

First and foremost Thompson is a good X`s and O`s guy from anyone in the know at Bport, he is a very good motivator and the players he looks to bring up from the ECHL are gritty gringers that can score and hit, have speed and are very defensively aware.
In years past Bport had a ECHL affiliate to pick players from mostly and now since they don`t have an affiliate are able to freelance more players from around the league.
Lastly Bport has a nice nucleus of young players and a couple vets, not to mention the kids from the ECHL.

assist of the year!! That was an awesome play by Casey. Everywhere you read since the Islanders drafted Cizikas everone writes that his offense will not translate well to the pro/nhl league. All he does is keep proving everyone wrong. Yeah Baby! Love this kids game.

Michael Haley hat trick for the Tigers tonight. Donovan a goal and two assists and Cizikas with another 2 assists. Tigers won 8-1!!!

That was a sick pass by Casey, damn! Can't wait to see him here.

Saw two sweet hits by Haley in that video, then he gets a hattrick and Isles acknowledge that the games going forward will be very phsyical. Maybe a call up isn't too far away.

I just started working for the Game Ops at Bridgeport, so I've gotten to see all the players. Man, Cizikas is going to be great when he gets here. I have yet to see this kid without a smile on his face, joking around with his teammates, enjoying life to the fullest. He's going to be a fan favorite very fast.

Haley owned that game vs. Springfield. He should be in the NHL, Niederreiter/Wallace/Rolston/Reasoner should not be.
