"how could we have traded our hossa for murray"

well i just want to say he continues to prove why we did trade for him . his hard non stop work EFFORT every shift is very much a treat to watch

He is great on that 4th line. This guy had no quit in him. The only way he can survive in the NHL is to continue playing with intensity and a great work ethic. When that 4th line is rolling, the rest of the team turns it on.

The Garth.

Meanwhile Marcel Hossa has not played a game for the Rangers in 2 weeks. No points since November 24th.

Yeah, gotta admit that I was one of those that couldn't believe the trade and thought Murray was junk. He really proved me wrong, and next time I'll think twice before thinking a player I don't know won't bring anything to our team. Keep it up Garth!!

I'm sure most of you would trade 3 Hossas NOW that you know how Murray plays.

how come he didn't make Rangers team in the begining of the season?

is it because they had similar playrs like Ward and others?

oh how history repeats itself. I recall fans up in arms when we picked up Begin. I was really shocked at how many freaked out when we traded Hossa for Murray. I thought it was a good deal then cause we were lacking hard working, physical energy guys and Begin with his shoulders can't do it all. I didn't think Ferland would be with the Habs this year, thought he'd need another year in the AHL.

Garth Murray had his best game of the season. He was everywhere and he saved a couple of goals. Also, he block so many shots and hit everything that was moving.

Count me in too!!!! I was so pissed, I really thought with his preseason that Hossa finally understood what it takes to play in the bigs. He even said to his brother that things would change, he understands now and bla-bla-bla.

So it was only some bla bla and Murray, I didn't know too much though I remember than when he was picked he was suppose to be an offensive player and now that he wasn't I was pissed even though I always thought that we needed more of those bangers in the lineup.

Well they prove me wrong, and I am so glad they did.

They just have to prove me wrong in that Huet-Bonk vs Garon trade now and I will shut up forever....

Way to go Garth (P.S. But don't sit him too often, if you have to sit someone, Sunny is my choice)

he sort of reminds me of Chris Nilan the way he plays with reckless abandon.

Gainey pulled a rabbit out of his hat when he pulled Steve Begin off of waivers and followed that up with a slick card trick, pulling an ace from his sleeve, to bring in Garth Murray.

I, too, was against the Hossa - Murray trade but in retrospect, it was a brilliant move!

Try to imagine this team without Steve Begin and Garth Murray (and for fun, Jonathon Ferland too) - it's quite scary. These players I mentioned are our entire forward grit!

A round of applause for Mr. Bob Gainey!

GM gives us heart, grit and desire and forces the other players on the team to play with intensity. Way to go Flatlander! (Sask. term of endearment)

I don't care if he plays 82 games and doesn't score a single goal. Murray>>>>>Hossa.

Hossa is dead weight.

to Bob Gainey for...

Begin
Murray
Lapierre
Ferland

They're all Gainey-type players...

P.S.: when are we going to see Lapierre again? (maybe because of Begin, Murray, and Ferland...Maxim Lapierre has to wait for now...?).

3. Ferland
4. Lapierre

Can never have too much heart , but... I think you mean for the 4th line, right? (we have 4 players so -one too many- for the 4th line).

Well..., I personally see Begin playing on the 3rd line sometimes, and/or just have one ENERGY line (4th line):
Murray Begin Ferland/Lapierre

Hossa was garbage and those of us who saw beyond the last name were pleased to see him go. I had no idea who Murray was, so I had no comment on him. All I knew at the time was that losing Hossa was a good thing.

As for Garth, I see him devloping his offense a bit more and maybe become a part time 3rd liner like Begin.

I never thought that the trade was bad. I had a feeling Garth would help us in some way shape or form.

So here's to Garth

Yes, this is what Rangers fans have said anyway. They had too many gritty fourth liners on their team already, so Murray was expendable to take a gamble on Hossa.

I'm glad you mention Ward though. I was very sad to see Jason Ward leave our organization, and Peter Vandermeer certainly didn't work out to be a replacement for him. However, Garth Murray has filled the void left by Wardo perfectly.

Go Garth!
