Semin- 23 pts, +15

Semin also has 16 more takes on the season. Now who do you think is really playing both ways?
Semin's always been a better two-way player than Ovechkin, so I don't even know why you're trying confront me on that one. My only response on that topic was about their play today.

All you've proven to me is that both Ovechkin and Semin have been good the past 25 games.

No, I showed you that Semin is on OV's level offensively, but is playing defense on a team that is playing a defensive system.

OV's pt production is very inconsistent, while Semin is consistent.

Ignoring the Carlson factor and the PP scoring, of course. Using +/- as means to prove to me that someone is playing in a system and ignoring that a system requires more than a single player is a bit odd.

Expecting Ovechkin to be Semin is odd.

They're both playing well. Ovechkin's been pretty consistent. Scoring points in 16 of those 25 games while Semin's scored in 18 of those 25.

Both Ovechkin and Semin have points in 6 of their last 10 games. Semin with 9 and Ovechkin with 10. There might be slight differences, I have problems with smaller fonts.

You're trying too hard to make Ovechkin seem terrible.

If there is one thing any Caps fan that remembers the time Before Ovie should know is that McPhee has a huge set.

For trading Zednik? Signing Mironov?

People still don't believe that McPhee had anything to do with Jagr, do they?

For his playing style when he played.
For going after Lorne Molleken.
For blowing up the team in the rebuild (and telling his owner it was necessary) - trading guys like Bondra, who were so popular.
-and After Ovie
For trading Bruce's boys when necessary
Letting Olie dangle, for the good of the team
Always going for the pieces we all thought were necessary
-"we need to get rid of Flash and get a real D-man" - boom
-"we need a big bodied, veteran center" - boom
-"we need a PMD while Green is out" - boom
Firing the most popular, most successful coach the team ever had

And ****, while I'm at it, people love to trash his drafting because of AGus, Poluluk, etc. But there are far more Varlys, Neuvys, Grubauers, Kuzs, Carlsons, Mojos that he scored on late in the first or subsequent rounds, than there are 'busts'.

edit - and I believe Leonsis has admitted he engineered the Jagr deal against GMGMs recommendation.

I really don't like this new, non-penalty NHL. All the hooking and cross checking going uncalled really doesn't suit our team's mentality.

Varly was a diva and had to be traded out of town cuz he wasn't gonna play here long term. Neuvy has looked like **** all year. Grubauer is an ECHL goalie. No one even knows if Kuz will play in the NHL. Carlson...see Neuvy. Mojo was supposed to be the 2c this team lacked, now hes a LW. While I do like who he drafted you used horrid examples.

Whats your excuse for him ignoring the glaring center depth staring him in the face for the past how many years?

You mean like how he totally ignored it when he traded for Arnott last year? Or traded for Belanger the year before? Or signed Halpern this year?

Or do you wish he had signed a high priced, Mike Richards type to center the second line. Ignoring the fact that we couldn't afford half the other guys on the roster with that kind of signing.

You mean Brad Richards.

Mike Richards would have been just about the perfect addition to this team.

Mike Richards was never an option. Holmgren was set on shipping him out west from the get-go.

I doubt the Caps were ever considered as a destination, but Mojo+Kuznetsov+ for Mike Richards would mean BB would still be the coach and we would still have no idea what this team was made of come playoff time, unlike now when we know they're made of paper. And not the good kind of paper they make money out of, or multiple layers of paper which can be as strong as armor. Tissue paper. This team has the character of tissue paper.

So you're saying Arnott, Belanger and now Halpern were and now are long term 2C solutions? Please. Time to stop throwing band-aids at the problem and find a real answer.

Aside from Ovi, Backstrom, Semin, Alzner, Kuznetsov, Orlov, Brouwer, Colorado's 1st and possibly Green. Id make anyone else available for a 2C.
