If that's the case, why rush the call up if you don't intend on playing them the next day because of the 3 games in 3 nights. Let them rest and join the team on Tuesday to prepare for Wednesday's game.

Still very fishy.

Hopefully we will like what we see of Schultz; he's the other player we got for Halak.

Yep, while you wait for Palushaj and Engqvist to re-vamp our powerplay.

I wasn't aware they were called up for the powerplay. What games are you watching?

Too bad we didn't have Schultz and White at the beginning of the 4 game winning streak, we could have won those games.

How have the Habs been doing this year without any toughness on their 4th line?

That was such an idiotic come-back... that I'll just pretend I never read it....

If you don't mind Brown sticking it to Subban at will, good for you.

Obviously the GM has finally say but I can't imagine the coach isn't consulted. I'm sure call-ups are the decision of the coach and GM together. It would make no sense to have zero communication between the two on such matters.

Didn't Gauthier trade for Schultz?

Also wasn't White on the team full time at the end of last season?

That's what I'm worried about also. I hope Schultz can keep up actually playing the game tomorrow and Wednesday(assuming he plays). He's been playing well in hamilton, but I don't know if he's ready.

The guy doesn't look like a lean smooth skater. He kind of looks like a bouncer more than an athlete.

If a scorer or an offensive defensmen goes down on the longterm injury list, would we call somebody up or trade for another one? Players like White easily findable in the league, they purposely did not want somebody to replace him (for that moment, don't tell me he just called him up like I didn't know!)

Schultz was a captain, and a 20+ goal scorer in the WHL, they hoped for a Lucic breakout when they got him, not a middleweight 4th liner. Don't act dumb, you're smarter than those Gauthier punch lines...

Being deliberately obtuse isn't one of your stronger abilities. The leap in logic that you're demonstrating in this thread is surprising and disappointing. Petty and childlike.

Well better late than never, but i think some of you are getting way too excited over Schultz. From what i've seen he will have his hands full with NHL middleweights. White we knew it was a matter of time.

PG should have jumped on one of the numerous NHL goons that have passed thru waivers the last few months. I would have snagged Matt Kassian when Minnesota waived him. Sure he's not much of a player, but he'd certainly be better suited to take on a team like the Bruins, and would make mince meat out of a guy like Brown.

I missed the game yesterday. What happened between Subban and Brown?

And **** yeah! Awesome call ups. Will the Habs finally have a real 4th line?

Didn't Gauthier say when acquired Schultz that he sought him out because he brought a unique skill-set to the prospects pool which he then said was "toughness and physical play"? I distinctly recall gauthier saying this. He never said anything about his ability to play an offensive role.

Also, White had a full time spot on the bottom 6 last season. Gauthier also went out and re-acquired mara who also brought a physical element and was able to drop the gloves.

Great move! Hopefully Moen is in the lineup against the Bruins as well...
What fiasco? That nobody wanted to fight a useless plug when the game was already over? Subban shouldn't have to fight a plug and nobody else should have to get involved when Subban provoked it. Subban doesn't need to be babied after dirty plays. If White was around I'd rather he go after that dirtbag Grabovski who was trying to injure Plekanec. Anyway I'd pick humiliating the Leafs like that over a "moral victory" any day.

Seriously, if that is a "fiasco", then give me more fiascos please.

That being said I'm happy to have White back, and it's interesting to see if Schultz has potential to be more than a goon. Schultz will be nice to have but he's not ready to fight Thornton as anything more than a sacrificial lamb.
