Heres a tip. Domt fall into your pool in Feb. Its ****ing cold and terrible.
In our last house my roommates and I used to do a "polar bear plunge" around the first of the year. We'd invite a bunch of people over for a party but usually we were the only ones jumping in. That was also the one day a year we'd turn on the hot tub (that **** is expensive to run!).
I'm moving to the Bay Area sometime next month, I already have a location I can stay in, I'm bringing clothes, dvds, video games ect.. but I'm leaving behind a lot of my big stuff (TVs, DVD players, ect)
However, I do want my PC to get there, It's a medium bulky tower, how would I proceed with this?
I know I can get it shipped there, but who would I use? UPS? I want a reliable provider that won't break it, also do I need to supply my own box?
I know it's very random, I've just never moved across the country before, thanks!

You can do UPS but they need you to bring your own box. At least that's what they wanted when I moved to Buffalo and then back to the Bay. Also stuff the box with soft stuff so the tower is cushioned. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply, I wonder where I can get soft stuff, perhaps I'll dig through old boxes and find some left over
I'd head to FedEx Kinko's, UPS Store or a local shipping store to ship that desktop. They will package your PC for you (foam peanuts and/or air bags as well). It costs a bit more than doing it yourself, but at least they'll be at fault if the packaging wasn't sufficient.
I've used the UPS store to package and ship a used 72" metal halide light fixture and it's heavy ballast box. They didn't even flinch at the sight.

UPS store, forgot about those.
I was debating shipping my TV too, but it's not that great, it's a 32 inch HDTV Toshiba but I could get a better TV for cheap now (since this one is from like 08)
Anywho, thanks for the info guys, looking forward to living over there
Felt weird that I was able to speak it so fluently since I haven't spoken it in months. She has an important swedish listening exam on Tuesday so I helped her study.
Seems that english isn't important for her, english is up tomorrow and she hasn't read it at all.
