Moen in Habs plans?

It looks like Moen's agent says the Habs want Moen beyond this season. Per TFP:

Quote:
Moen's agent, Craig Oster, told TFP this weekend that while the Canadiens have not opened contract negotiations, they do consider Moen part of their future.

"He's been given every indication that he's in their plans," Oster said.

Personally, I want to keep Moen and sign him to a new deal... Gill, Campoli, even Kostitsyn.. see ya.

Oh yeah ! his defensive game is very underated and important to the team, plus he can play in many roles, bring physical presence and add energy what can we ask more of a role player.

Solid third liner. Physical, great on the pk, sticks up for teammates, good for around 10 a year, playoff warrior with a ring and still under 30.

If they want to keep him, I'm fine with that. But do it now ! Don't take a shot in the dark, HOPING to re-sign him at some point after the deadline. We're in no position to squander assets. Don't want another Souray situation.

Sign him now or trade him. Period.

I hope Moen stays. Sick and tired of letting players like him walk. Dominic Moore, Glen Metropolit and Jeff Halpern. I miss those guys.

I've said it before, if he brings good return, trade him. If not, keep him. He's useful.

Yup this.

He's a very solid 3rd liner. Some Habs fans hate him because he was put into a top 6 role he was not suited for, not his fault.

In addition, Moen would be 10x the player if he had some support around him in the bottom 6 and wasn't always shoved into having to play top 6 duty (even though he fills in decently). If he's played in the bottom 6 and surrounded with a couple of more tough players, he would be even more effective.

If he is willing to sign at a reasonable price (1,5M$ max), I hope Gauthier re sign him asap. Moen is a very solid and gritty role player and a good shut down guy.

White and Moen... both in the line up... oh YEAH!

If Moen wants to test the market (does not want to sign before season's end) and IF we no longer are in the playoffs picture, they should ship him out for a pick.

That being mentioned is he suffering from post concussion symptoms or is it just a minor injury?

I'd much rather keep Moen than get rid of him....but if we can replace him from within the organization and maybe get a 2nd round pick for him at the deadline...let him go and re-sign him in the off-season maybe.

If he's traded he won't be back.

I would to re-sign him though.

well, according to some, trading him and calling his agent back on July 1st is the way to go... hell, he's probably telling PG to do that right now, as we speak... as he'd better come back here than stay with the contender he was traded to

Never liked the guy. St' une moviète. He and Darche are the type of Martin-style ideal player and I just don't like that.

well, Subban and Gorges are the kind of players JM seemed to like...

If we cannot get a 2nd round draft pick for him then KEEP HIM!

Next season:

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole
Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Leblanc - Eller - Moen
Blunden - White - Schultz

Markov - Emelin
Gorges - Subban
Kaberle - Diaz

Price
Budaj
