For years, the Grind line had McCarty. Prust is that to this Rangers team. He's a part of the core. He will get resigned and not go anywhere.

Total respect for Prust. Gives it 100% every shift. He's one of the pieces of the puzzle that makes this team what it is. I don't care if he doesn't score another goal all year.

On a funny note. I'm watching the 6pm news on CBS and the so called Sports reporter, don't know his name, is showing highlights from the game today. He showed Prusts goal and called him Proost. Good job. Really know your Hockey.

You gotta remember it's not entirely about the $$ amount for these guys. Obviously, if it's a significant raise he's going to take it but living in NYC with a lot of money is a great life. Playing on a great team as a player is a great life.

If i'm prust -- unless another teams offer is 20% higher than that of the NYR -- I'm staying here.

Absolutely---he is a bottom-6 forward, but his skill in terms of toughness and the penalty kill is very valuable to this squad.

As for a contract---I think that a contract of Mike Rupp's (3 years/1.5M per) term, possibly slightly higher should do it. The money should be there.

I agree, but my point was that I don't think Prust is the kind of player that some other team is going to swoop in and drop loads () of cash on. He'll need to be overpaid severely to be drawn away, and I just don't see that happening.

I'd be pretty disappointed if we didn't keep him. He's part of the team's heart and soul, and his hustle frequently gets the team going when they're looking sluggish.
