They're more disciplined than a college team though. What I hate about watching college basketball is when a team gets down, the players usually decide that the best way to come back is to bring the ball down the floor and jack up 3's every posession.

Kaman's not what he used to be but Hawes was below average prior to this year and his play this year might be due to the fact its a contract year.

It would be beyond stupid to go out and make big move and gut the team but I do think they need to added a big man either for depth behind Hawes or to upgrade him.

Vucevic may be 7'0 but he's not a true C. And I wouldn't want to rely on key minutes from Battie or Elson.

Then we have Brand and Allen who are both undersized to play the 5 consistently.
I don't disagree with anything you said there. I just don't think the trade, Hawes for Kaman, is good value. It doesn't come close to putting us over the top this year and it wouldn't help us down the road either. There's definitely a need for a big man who's a strong defender/rebounder though. In a perfect world, the only time Battie or Elson would see the floor are in blowouts.

Trade the entire team and a 1st round pick for Jeremy Lin.

Not sure if this has been posted...from espn on Kobe!

BOSTON -- Tight end Rob Gronkowski was among a large contingent of Patriots on hand for Thursday's Celtics-Lakers overtime thriller at TD Garden. During the game, he could be seen shouting at Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.

So what did Bryant yell back to him?

"I told him the Eagles need a tight end," said Bryant, a Philadelphia native. "I'm recruiting. He's a freak athlete. He shouted at me, I shouted back."

Somewhere, Brent Celek isn't amused.

I was just watching E:60 on Kobe, and his relationship with Philadelphia. I wish we picked him instead of AI.

picking high school players back then was rare, since when the Wolves selected KG the year before he was the first high school player drafted in 20 years. So I cant really blame the 76ers for that, the more depressing thing is that Tim Duncan decided to go back to Wake that year and the next year the Sixers drafted 2nd behind the Spurs.

Well this thread needs some activity after Turner's game last night. Yes, Boston was on the second night of a back to back, but that doesn't change how Turner dominated against a pretty solid team. If he can play like that consistenly it would be huge for them. Can he keep it up?

For someone who mildly follows the Sixers and none of the rest of the NBA, can someone describe what Turner's struggles have been so far in his career?

I'd say a combination of a few things. For one, the Sixers tried to put him in a role that he's not really suited for. They wanted him to play off the ball more, but he's better when he controls the ball. His jumpshot is a work in progress and he's had trouble adjusting to what they wanted him to do and being consistent.

I love the way Turner has been playing with new starting role. Great move by collins to switch him and meeks.

So not really a Sixer fan but caught this on WIP earlier and thought it was hilarious

YOUR OUR TWITTER GM: Name 1 or more current Sixers you believe MUST be on roster next year, 1 or 2 you'd trade and why... "KEEP: TRADE:"
That would be the Sixers owner asking fans who they want to keep and who they want traded not only in the middle of the season but also in the middle of them trying to secure a playoff spot.

Odds on when we'll see Mr. Snider do that?

I thought these bums would turn it around this year. But no, another 7-8th seed, win one playoff game, get middle of round draft pick, then repeat.

Is it confirmed that the Sixers bailed on WIP and moved to 97.5 effective immediately?

If that's the case, wouldn't shock me if the Flyers weren't too far behind.

"The 76ers are simply thrilled to immediately begin airing our games on 97.5 The Fanatic and 950 ESPN Radio," said the Sixers' Aron. "We are so impressed by the quality of programming we hear on 97.5 and 950, and know that our 76ers game broadcasts will dovetail perfectly with Greater Media's commitment to quality sports programming.”

Aron continued, “What's more, for the first time ever, all 76ers games all season long will be found on a single station on the preferred FM band and many will be simulcast on AM as well. The Sixers’ rapidly growing fan base will no longer have to set their radios to 'scan' to find where their Sixers will be aired. We appreciate the support of our previous primary radio station broadcaster over the years, but know that this move to The Fanatic and ESPN Radio is the right move for Sixers fans."

Heh.

Pretty disgraceful that the Flyers can't get top billing on 'IP in the playoffs over a Cubs-Phils tilt in late April.
