Yup that was it.
Got hard core searched at the border. Apparently I am too sketchy looking to be coaching kids. I really really hate the Department of Homeland Security.

Catching Florida could be a real challenge. Their team speed really impressed me. They also have played more games on the road then at home. I think the easier path to the playoffs could be through Toronto and Ottawa. Key to that is keeping the teams that are behind us, behind us. A win on Tuesday against the Islanders would be huge.

Josh Bailey is a guy I've said the Jets could potentially target (young underachiever). Hoping to see what he brings.

I just want us to not suck on Tuesdasy (thanks Hammer). I don't care if it's defense, offense, goaltending, whatever. Just don't suck, please. Just an all around solid game for everyone.

Hoping San Jose can whack the Caps tomorrow.
It is back to back for them but they are 4 - 1 in that situation with travel. Sort of good news... except why does San Jose only have 5 back to backs so far this season. I've read so many times that all teams have the same... actually they DON'T! SJ only has 4 more of these for the rest of the year. That's 8 for the season. Given that were 0 - 9 and we have 4 left for a total of 13. That is a huge competitive advantage over many teams in the league. Not that they can effect the Jets spot with their position but in general that's not right.

I think its fair to say the Jets are an exceptional case this year. Largely because we're playing much of ATL's schedule. I would find it incredibly hard to believe that the league doesn't try to ensure that doesnt happen when they can.

or at least, you know, not have teams travel from central to eastern time (losing an hour) and/or crossing a border. that would be nice. the Detroit game was a perfect storm of unfortunate scheduling. mind you, we get a lot of teams coming in on the second half of a back-to-back. so can't complain too much i guess.

Rick Ralph tweeted the following from practice earlier,

So I would imagine we're looking at,

Ladd - Little - Wheeler
Kane - Burmistrov - Wellwood
Fehr - Antropov - Miettinen
Glass - Slater - Thorburn

Those lineups are interesting to say the least.

I like the possibility of Kane, Burmi and Welly. Alex has been playing better lately and it's nice to actually see some rewards of top 6 shown his way.

Ladd needs to step his game up, he's a guy who gets chances by standing in front of the net screening or looking for a deflection and I haven't seen that in awhile. As well as the other points of his game are also lacking, he's someone who has not seen as much criticism as other forwards on this roster who should be imo.

Hrrm. Good to see that Burmi may get another shot in the top 6. Not so sure about seeing Fehr back in the line-up - would rather see Stapleton in his slot on that line. Would also like to see Kane and Ladd swap spots - Kane's style and speed suits playing with LIttle and Wheeler better, IMHO.

Not the worst line composition though.

Note to Burmi: use Kane and Welly! Stop messing with the puck at both bluelines! He's got the skill - just needs to improve his vision and utilize his team mates more. So frustrating.

If he planted his relatively large frame in front of the net and ate cross checks all night, I'd join his fan club. He works best there, or in the low slot - wicked wrist shot when he uses it.

Doesn't Kane historically destroy the Isles? Could be a great game for him tomorrow and man do we need him if we want to give 'er for the rest of the regular season.

Well, their goalies, at any rate

Seriously though, I was at that game and wasn't sure what Evander was doing there. There is speculation that is where he got concussed, too.

This is such a critical game for us.

He'll be fine.

Isles goalies have a history of quick recoveries.

Yeah we're at that time of the season where this gets applied to every game but I really agree with this one. It's obvious that Ottawa, Toronto and Washington will not pull away from the Jets and have only really added 1-2 points to their lead while we were slumping on the road.

I think Jets can make back those few points over the next 10 games but it def requires them to look at the schedule and say "hey, the Isles here at home...gotta win that one" If we stay just as wishy-washy as the guys we're chasing then we waste this gift-wrapped homestand.

And if one team can sneak and steal games it's the Isles. Great young talent there with Tavares and Okposo. They have their own little Oilers-esque youth movement going on.

A bunch of guys have had a taste of scoring again, over the Jets' last 68 minutes ... I think that will be good for confidence. It's a lot better that they lost 8-5 than 2-0 or something like that, in other words. They know they can keep the opponents' score low, at least when they're playing the vast majority of teams, but now they also know that scoring goals isn't just something you read about in books.

Hope you don't mean this....

Giardiasis /ˌdʒiːɑrˈdaɪ.əsɪs/ or beaver fever in humans is a diarrheal infection of the small intestine by a single-celled organism Giardia lamblia.

according to this article
