Only recall seeing Bickel in 1st period, didn't play much after that, actually in game like this I like a d-man playing forward they tend to lean towards defense and coverage first

I like Bickel as a forward. I've been calling for it for a while now once everyone got healthy.

No offense to Feds but also like the added toughness

Really like Bickel in this role, 7th D, 4th line winger. Can play the next 10 yrs in the NHL a la Strudwick. Can take on all the AHL idiots like Tostito and Haley.

I'd like to see them keep Bickel as a healthy scratch except for games against goon teams. Give Wolski a shot from here to the deadline.

Bickel does what is asked of him on the 3rd pair on Defence, or as the 4th line winger.

He's not going to embarrass himself defensively at either position and when playing up front, he skates well enough to get in on the forecheck and lay the body on guys.

Additionally, he's a solid fighter and when you can skate thise guys and not hurt your team in the process, you keep things the way they are now.

Keep him up front for the time being.

Keep Wolski away from this team. There's nothing he does or can do that has any resembalance of what this teams identity is. Wolski on this team is a square peg for a round hole. He has no spot on this team.

Wolski has to play so they can deal him, Feds over Bickel for sure. No fighting in the playoffs. They will deal for a depth forward soon

Last game for Wolski/Woy today...stints don't end until the 16th technically though.

15 days until the trade deadline, Rangers play 6 times from now until then.

I bet WW comes back to the Rangers and Sather looks for deals, if nothing he waives him closer to the deadline for space. I think Woywitka just stays with the Whale until the 16th and gets waived to make the stay permanent. Hopefully he clears, too many Dmen are much better than not enough.

From now until the end of the season the Rangers are going to be playing a lot of games. 8 more games in February. I think we have 16 games in March and 4 more in the first week of April. So many games packed tightly together there's a pretty decent likelihood that someone on our defense gets hurt--has to miss some games. Bickel might not be an every day player over the stretch but I'm sure he'll get in some games--especially against tougher opponents like the Bruins--we still have 3 more with them. Having capable extra defenseman is both a luxury and a necessity--contradictory as that may seem.

Hes played less than 8 minutes in these 2 games. Not enough for me to say I "like him" there. Hes a tough guy, tries hard. But I sure as hell hope hes not playing minutes come playoff time.

in the PO's, I agree Bickel needs to sit.

Remainder of the regular season, he needs to play for as long as Feds is out.

I like him as a 7th D-man, 13th forward. What's wrong with that? As a spare part, he's a great fill-in.

just because there's no fighting in the playoffs doesn't mean that bickel wouldn't serve a purpose if he's needed. i'd rather see bickel than wolski or mza in a playoff situation, so if there's an injury down the stretch i'd like to see bickel taking those 8 4th line winger minutes.

was this really a mistake? mza is with the whale for a reason. give it a rest. i'd rather have gilroy back on a wing than mza any day.

I wouldn't go that far. MZA is much more useful than LOLroy.

The Rangers will acquire a forward of some sort by the deadline. Whether it is a top 6 piece like a Smyth, or more of a bottom 6 player like a Gaustad, it will fill whatever hole they might have right now.

I said it when he came up, he is the new Jason Strudwick. He hasn't looked out of place at forward and he is passable on defense.

Agreed on both...
