I trust him more than Kampfer...........and that`s without seeing him play in forever

I gotta come clean, Halifax Mooseheads season tix holder for years, loved Bods when he was here, so absolute bias is possibly taking over right now

If there's an injury Id rather see Nathan McIver or Kevin Millar since the Habs just called up 2 goons from their AHL team.

IMO with Hamil on the scrap heap, Kampfer and Caron are most likely their most trade able assets.

And there is no way they should sit a dman to showcase Kampfer

They should just show tape, no good can come from a potential trade partner watching him play

wow, interesting

Bods is a enigma to me, most games he is blah and then he'll have the odd game where he's Provy's best dman...

At least he's experienced and is more "sittable" than Kampfer should be right now.

They've been carrying 7 d-men just about all season. Kampfer needs to play and has been pretty bad in Boston. Bodnarchuk has plenty of pro experience and is better suited to 7th d-man role.

It's quite possible, but as it's a long, drawn-out trip both he and Kampfer might be going along.

I think leaving Kampfer in Providence to play games is better for him anyway.

I don't think Kampfer looked the same since his concussion last year. Getting multiple AHL games under his belt may be the best method of helping him find his game again rather than riding a bike and sitting in the press box.

I do not trust Bodnarchuk more than Kampfer. Paint me a bit fo a Kampfer fanboy perhaps...

If Bodnarchuk has to suit up for the big club, I shudder at the outcome.

Interesting though that he and Marchand are long time friends, played youth hockey together.

I wish him well as i do all Nova Scotia boys, but he is a step down from Kampfer.. and it don't believe it is a little step..

Probably just taking a look at what their own talent pool has to offer before dipping into the trade deadline for depth.

The Bruins need to do a better job drafting D.

Meh. Kampfer has been terrible, so how much worse can Bodnarchuk be?

Also, people saying it was the concussion as a reason for his poor play, I disagree. Kampfer had a handful of games early last year where he looked okay, but the longer he played the more the holes in his game were exposed. It's probably the best thing for his development to get him down in Providence playing regularly instead of sitting up here.

Marchand must be thrilled that his longtime bestie is up.

Not sure what to think other than trades.

I think that TLC might have a point in that this could be more about Kampfer getting reps in Providence than it is about Bodnarchuk.

To be honest, I'm surprised he did as well as he did early on, coming out of a college program as a 7th rounder... Going from 30 games or so games a season (only about 2 games a week too) to a full pro schedule against pro athletes that know the game is tough, he was bound to falter at some point. Dmen take time.

This is a scary move ... Really exposes how weak we are with defensive prospects. Bodnarchuk is nowhere near NHL-caliber. If people thought Kampfer and Bartkowski were bad, they are going to fly off the handle with Bods.

Yup. Which is why I think playing regularly, even at a lower level, is what's best for him. I'm not a fan of his at all, but if they can bring him along, he could still be useful.

I agree, but they seem to do a good job at trading for them.

-McQuaid. Kampfer, Boychuk.

Their pro scouting dept seems to be better at identifying these guys than their amateur scouts. Although d-men can be hard to gauge at young ages.
