I'd rather Knuble and Beagle than Aucoin.

They should let San Jose take him with them when they leave. I'm sure Thornton would like his 240 pound wing back.

I don't think it makes a lick of difference. None is an impact player. Outside of Halpern, the 4th line has been pretty terrible for most of the year.

Beagle produced a better scoring chance (vs. WPG?) on that 2-on-1 than Knuble has in a very long time.

Aucoin... well, don't know what they're looking for from him so can't say one way or the other.

I'd much rather sit Aucoin than Knuble.

Sitting Aucoin is pointless, though. If he's up, he should be in the lineup. Now, I don't think he should be up, but that's another matter.

I'm assuming they prefer Aucoin's speed. But yeah, not sure how long he's up for or why. Or maybe they just want another center in the lineup.

It's still arguing over crap that doesn't mean a hill of beans.

Unless Ovechkin scores 2, they probably lose.

Beagle or Knuble?

Let's flip Au Coin.

Okay, that was bad.

Meh, I chuckled.

NBC got some lame laughs out of me yesterday with the Beagle/Beagle/beagle trio.

I read an article on Bleacher Report saying that Knuble will probably be benched for the rest of the year or at least a while. They think its because he is going to get traded

Why hast Boruque been given a chance? Same old same old with him being too small and such. Or Mafki just hates him for leaving. Whatever.

Man. There isnt much of anything at the AHL level to help. There needs to be a shot of something injected into the NHL roster before its too late.

Bleacher Report articles are written by people with fewer contacts than those found on this message board. They know absolutely nada.

Potulny at least has a 15 goal NHL season to his name. I'd rather see him up than Aucoin. And Hanson's a better fit as a 4th line plug at center.

So yeah, the Aucoin call up is confusing for a number of reasons.

Benching a guy and totally torpedoing whatever value he might have doesn't make sense as a prelude to a trade. It's not like a "scratch him for tonight so he doesn't get hurt, the deal's already done" situation.

Hooray Vokoun still has the flu and Neuvy said he is starting tonight. Well any faith I had in a victory just went out the window.

Wtf does that even mean? I'm talking to the people who think the problem lies in no #19 and no #52. What's the excuse if they miss the playoffs with them back or get bounced in round 1 or 2?

Tippett woudl win 60 games a year with the talent on the Caps roster. The man has been a miracle worker here in Phoenix.

Aucoin is here getting his feet wet in case MP gets injured. Just like MP was toiling as a 4th line winger all year, waiting for an injury to a scoring C. Just like ramping up Orlov's minutes a few games back, its high time to figure out what we have in terms of depth at C and D. Get Aucoin up here, and let's expose him to what we may need him to do later, see if he can figure out how to trap yet still help generate scoring chances; be ready to pinch hit for an injured MP.

The system Dale is trying isn't new to hockey, its just taking time for the C/W up high to figure out when to join the forecheck, and how to trap when play is coming at them. It's not rocket science stuff. I feel they are erring on the side of caution and staying back, to not get in trouble. I do expect it to take time for the players to adapt but don't know whats reasonable - 3 months perhaps.

Maybe Dale didn't like Knuble talking about the teams lack of shots. The other GM's know his game, it won't change his trade value much.

Among the other more obvious issues related to the Capitals roster, this is one of those other conerns. The cupboard is pretty much bare at Hershey. You have Eakin and that's about it at forwards. No one really at D (Kundratek is not NHL material, at least not right now). I still have faith in Holtby. Caps need to restock the farm via the draft and acquiring prospects. The best way to do this is to move some UFAs. I expect Kuznetsov to come straight to the NHL.

I'm wondering if having an NHL coach who was respected as a force in the game is the reason for Semin's turn around. He's consistently back-checking and even going to the corners from time to time. I bet he tuned Bruce out but is more willing to listen to Hunter.

I'm seeing zero defensive effort in Ovi's game. It's just been brutal this year watching him stand up tall and not pressuring the puck.

Aucoin is 31 years old, a little too late for him to get his feet wet for any case, imo.

Dont see us winning this one... which means its a W!
