Kostitsyn was dumb on the goal, I get "punishing" him for it (even though as I've said before I think it's less effort than just awareness with him, so when he's off the best thing you can do is play him with guys who will get him involved) but to not give him a chance later on when Gomez and Darche cannot be relied on offensively and Palushaj has shown very little is just ridiculous. Cunneyworth has been coaching them like it's an AHL team, which might be good at getting them to hit hard and get the best guys to crash the net, but it's not going to do anything. Kostitsyn is what he is, he's a useful and flawed player.
To be fair Martin did a similar thing as he rewarded defense above all else.

I can understand that. Kabs was making those kind of plays on a nightly basis when he was a Cane. So that's why we were so happy to get rid of him.

I still remember back during the 2006 run I had some good conversations with Habs fans on their main website. Figured I'd stop by here and see if that hospitality continued. For the most part it has. Wish everyone in Raleigh cared as much about hockey as I do and everyone on here does but I don't love the Canes any less. Habs have been my second favorite team since 2006 and the hospitality those fans showed me. Should go back to the main boards and see what those guys are up to.

The coach gave him the night off. So he had a couple of bad shifts playing with Scott the magnificent Gomez? Take Darche off for a couple shifts, take Palushaj off, play AK there, see how much better he looks. But no, 4 min is all he'll get with Gomez.
It's not about defending AK. It's about playing crappier players more than him. I don't care how bad or lazy anybody thinks he is, the bottom line is he is better than Scott Gomez, Mathieu Darche and Aaron Palushaj. There is no freaking reason for him to be used less than these guys, no matter how crappy he's playing.

What's up with Kostitsyn? Sucks to admit it, but even though he played only 4 minutes, those 4 minutes were terrible. And why does he play with Gomez? Why does anyone play with Gomez?
And last, but not least, why is Darche playing 20 minutes per game and on the 4 on 4 with less than two minutes left? I cried, partly from laughter and partly from sadness.
